I finally convinced a friend that played Lotro with me to get GW2, but he’s unable to get on my Server. He was very interested in WvW and this means we cannot play together as my server (Jade Quarry) always has Full status. He’s been trying for a few weeks now to no avail.

With the new system of showing server status, does this mean that JQ is locked for anyone wanting to transfer to it? Or is it still possible to do so? I feel bad coz he had a lvl 18 char and i got him to delete it so he could transfer for free, but I’m now wondering if he’ll ever be able to transfer?

And would it make any difference if he paid for the transfer? I’d just like to know what the situation is, so i can tell him not to bother trying and getting more and more frustrated, or simply leaving the game.

If anyone is able to enlighten me, i’d appreciate it. And btw, this new system for showing server status, using WvW is terrible, if it means what i think it means.

Naw nothing you can really do, sorry =/ as long as JQ remains top dog in WvW population, it’s unlikely he’ll be able to transfer anytime soon. Best bet would probably have both of you transfer to a high pop but not full server together. The new status based on WvW sucks but it’s necessary. Otherwise, everyone would join the #1 WvW server just for the win and would give no chance to the other servers.

Aww that really sucks, but i will not move the servers. I’ve been on Jade Quarry since BWE1 i couldn’t bring myself to move, not even for a friend i’m afraid. Well if he stops playing as a result of this change, i guess it’s Anet’s loss, as he was planning on getting the expansion too.

Maybe they should allow everyone to move to the top ranking server of their dreams regardless of what that does to queue times or to the lower ranking servers. Unless you have some other idea of how to fix the situation of locking servers?
