Guild Wars 2

Hello Guild Wars 2 community.

I’m a huge fan of both Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 games. Been playing both games for couples of years and really enjoy it. But there’s one little thing that strikes my heart when it comes to Guild Wars 2 and buying styles from the Gem Store.

When you’re spending 10 dollar (buying 800 gems) for a special style you like and want to wear it for a good amount of time. (Because you just spent 800 gems on it, eh) And I just want to make this clear first: I do understand completely why they’re doing this since it’s a F2P game and want to make some profits out of it.

But, I find it silly when you need to spend more gems just to transmute the style you just bought for 800 gems when you’re changing gear and still want to use the style of course. I got this feeling that you’re borrowing the style since you don’t have ultimate usages without buying transmutation charges.

Yeah, it’s a FPS game and you don’t need to pay anything in order to play the game. But I’m guessing there are people out there that want to invest in a -single charge of money- on a better look (style) and are not able to afford to pay a monthly fee generally. Which again need to spend more gold to buy gems or more real money

Yes, you can obtain TC through map completion and converting gold to gems, but there should be a easier way to obtain them and should make buyers aware that changing this style after first free use will cost you Transmutation charges.

One positive side I can think of is that you need to decide when to use the charges correctly on gear you’re going to use for a long time since it’s costly. And you won’t see “everyone” running in the same style (from the choices you have) just because of this.

On the other hand: I want to use it frequently through levling-phase since gear on low level usually don’t looks that awesome. But hinders me in doing so just because it’s costly to change frequently.

I want your constructive feedback on this subject.

When you buy an armor skin you can use it for free first time.
if you dont have dozens of charges you can use outfits.

I accept the current system and I think it’s very fair to both sides.

P.S. the game is b2p not f2p

May i asked you? How much time do you want to spend to leveling your character?
