I have a simple question to ask –
Why doesnt regeneration buff stack with itself? It only prolongs the duration but it doesnt stack… For instance they could implement the same stacking option as might – Stacks on but not on duration! Why wouldnt Anet implement a stacking regeneration If they gave us a new ascended insignia with toughness vitality and healing power (which I intend to craft for my necro) why dont they let regeneration stacks? It would surely improve the position of supporting players who would like to support for a change! Not only building ZERK ZERK and once again ZERK!
I want to try a different necromancer build with supporting role in parties with all kinds of boons, but particularly based on regeneration and heal – since regen cant stack itself (only duration does) Im feeling like Anet doesnt have a sence for roles in parties..
Im sure necro could support like crazy!

Pardon me – That was my mistake. Im fairly new to this game so excuse me for that…
I’ll edit my post – Anyhow might does stack but not on duration, they could easily implement the same stacking on regeneration as well

I can agree with that. In my opinion most boons/condis should be stackable (for example poison could be -10% healing per stack, up to 5 stacks).

Well its your insinuation since you dont know how would it actually work.
Mine guess is that Regeneration stacks in intensity would bring this game on higher level of support class!
I know Anet wanted to get away from classic tank + heal + 3 DPS groups – but they made support professions!
Give support a chance!

Probably because it’s suppose to be slow healing not burst which you have direct heals for. It would also make make stacking even more ridicules.

Edit: Why do regen boon on a Necro? other classes have better access to that boon. I think necros are better at damage migration and condition management if you want to take a support role. It’s not about healing, it’s about stopping people needing to be healed. Zerk =/= no support.

Do you realize how silly PvP and WvW would be if nobody could ever die because of ridiculous stacks of regen? Even now, regen stacking bunker eles, rangers, and warriors are pretty stupid. BTW, support does not equal ‘healer’ in GW2.

I dont see why dont people like changes in the game? It could actually be a new meta game in gw2…

It is healthy for the game to migrate in other directions! I could assume that top teams would have at least one player fulled up with sigils and armor atributes with healing power.

I am sure there are way beyond regeneration boon and that this game is unique in fact that every profession has its own healing spell

Pretty much. Don’t forget those regen/bunker Rangers and Engis as well. This idea is ridiculous and would break PvP and WvW.

Sure you can say ’I’m sure a team would like to have one regen/healer/support’ but, what happens when a 30 man zerg is in full regen builds because it’s so broken OP and damage, literally, doesn’t matter at all anymore?

With dogged march/melandru runes/food i have -98% duration for chilled/cripple/immo, so those conditions stay on me for less than half a second and i get 4 seconds of regeneration everytime one of those conditions hits me.
No matter which limit stacked regeneration would have, i could get it instantly in a zerg fight or being chased down by a couple of guys.

If im low on health, i would just jump into the middle of the enemy zerg, get a nice 32k heal from defiant stance and get full stacks of regeneration along the way. GG

I guess it should be pretty obvious that any game mechanic changes would also result in skill/trait tweaks.

They can reduce base strength a bit (like to 100) and make it cap at 5 stacks. So 4 seconds of full stacks would give you 2 k (4k with 1k heal power) health.

If too bursty heal is a problem they can further reduce base strength while increasing base durations.

Adrenal Regen/Healing Signet Warrior with Dolyak Runes and 25 stacks of Regen soloing Stone mist Castle for the win! Whoot! All the diversities….

Op I don’t think you have a clue how powerful regen already is w/o it stacking in intensity. Warrior, Ranger, and Ele can ALL already maintain a meager 3-5 sources of Regen and it’s stupid to fight against. Warriors got their signet nerfed already b/c of how broken Regen builds were.
