Say you put up AOE regen boon. We know that AOE in this game is (usually) limited to 5 people, but theres 20 people around you.

Does the regen boon apply to:
1. The closest people around you?
2. The people with lowest % hp within the AOE area?
3. Randomly within the AOE area?

Thanks~

It was previously to closest I think or random at least. Anet mentioned that now AoE buffs favor party members in range dunno if it was already implemented or will be.

It should also apply to NPCs outside of the normal restriction of 5. This is part of the problem with Balthazar. This and overpowered Spamjugators.

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.

I am not sure how it works but I always hoped/thought that it always included the castor as well as those needing the healing the most.

Anything else to me would either just be stupid or too random and relying on yet more RNG that is just not needed.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

Honestly Regen is pretty poor either way, even with over a thousand heal its pitiful.

AoE buffs do affect those in your party first.

Not yet.

Currently:
Players → Non-players

Oct 15th:
Party → Other Players → Minions → NPCs
(not sure about last two)

And within a single group, it’s random. But if the party is priorized (not yet), you’re finally garantueed to get your own quickness/ heal applied …..

Note:
Heal only heals those, which are not full. So if the full party has full HP, other allies will be healed.

To quote the wiki:

“… when affecting allies, closest party members are affected first, followed by closest non-party member allies.”

Last line of the first paragraph.

Wish it prioritized the caster. I hate when I put down a timewarp and don’t even get the quickness buff myself.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
