Q:

Will we be able to transfer to any region we choose after gw2 CN release ?

For example I started my journey on an EU server at launch but I moved to the caribbean some time ago so a transferred to a NA server, it would be great if that freedom of choice was still viable for everyone no matter where they are originally from.

it would also be awesome if I could choose to play in CN but keep my client in english or any other language I choose to play in, it’s fun sometimes to swap the language and listen to how another actor personifies characters we know and love.

A:

Separate publishers, separate clients. I’m am pretty sure a Dev answered this question, and said you will not be able to ‘exchange’ clients. Thus, no transferring to servers that will not exist on your client.

It’s not their fault. China doesn’t allow western companies to publish mmos in China. You have to use a local company.

Regions are NOT like districts in GW1.
In the case of NA/EU yes they are.

But the Chinese release of the game is different to ours. The way levelling works is different, as is the distribution of trait points and the way skill points are earned/spent. The game is sufficiently different that it wouldn’t really work if people were to swap between the current servers and the chinese client.
