So being the noob i am, i got bolt. Its been since before the new year and i still hate myself for getting it. It would be awesome, even though this will probably never happen, if we could sell our legendaries to a certain merch (refund merch) for half the price it is selling on the tp. If someone is willing to sell their legendary for that price then they should be given the option. Another nice thing would be able to convert ur legendary to pvp. I sure as hell dont use the sword often on my guard in pve but if i were to be able to convert it to pvp then i would use it all the time on a ranger, thief, guardian, etc. It would actually be worth it. What do u guys think, would u like either one of these options? If so comment and lets see if we can get Anet to consider these option.

Maybe if player housing ever comes along you can just hang it on your wall next to your self portrait and look at it from time to time.

Thats a solid point :P lol. I wish i did but i made foefire’s gayness so decided to get something other than a legendary GS. I wasnt expecting the sword to be so useless in pve though.

A legendary is an enormous investment. If you’re not sure, 100%, that this is the weapon type and skin that you want, then maybe you shouldn’t be crafting it.

There are several safeguards in place that make sure you are 100% confidant that you get the legendary you want. Salvage it, transmute it to another character, or merch it.

I suggest Salvaging it. Then you can say you did something that very few GW2 players ever did.

You should always, always, always test out the weapon type before you spend any large amount of time and/or gold to obtain a nice skin of that type! Personally, I love sword as a Guardian and plan on creating Bolt at some point.

Even before getting a cheap exotic version of a weapon, I test it out that type with lower quality to see how the skills work their range with basic 1 attacks and each skill, etc.

I have used each weapon beyond just unlocking all the skills for them, I will still use each weapon again before investing any large amount of time or gold into a skin. That is the best way to avoid problems like this.

First off Bolt needs a massive upgrade! its been the same since the start of the game except footsteps, which r tiny, and the sound effects. Its not a cheap legendary yet the howler is more noticeable. For gameplay, its a awesome pvp/single target weapon, i dont disagree with that, that is y i would like to convert it to pvp, then i would be using it all the time. If i did have the chance to refund it it for half the price i would just to make sunrise. Bolt is the only legendary that hasnt been really upgraded, since it didnt need to be at the time but now its a different story, the underwater legendaries have better effects. Being able to use ur legendary in pvp would be something that would make me probably love bolt but it also needs some upgrades to make it more legendary!

Can’t you do the transmute to a white item trick with it to make it account bound?

How can you make a legendary without having at least once or twiced tried the corresponding build in PvE to see if you liked it? oO It’s not as if making one was done overnight. It takes hours upon hours to do that.

Sounds like an upgrade to me.
Sword is a very versatile weapon on the guardian, if you know how to use it and with the right offhand.
I really don´t get your problem with the FX, looks quite cool to me and after loosing this ultra annoying nonstop sizzling it´s even become usable. What the heck do you want? The heavens to split up and angelic quires whenever you swing it?
Or just a smaller version of Dawn?

Could always work in reverse and make/find a build that makes the Sword shine on a Guardian. Sword isn’t useless so it shouldn’t be all that hard.

Not sure what your playstyle is though. If you like melting faces on your Guardian, then you probably should have made a Greatsword or Scepter (Scepter is good on a Guardian, right? :-P).

Sword is a good weapon for basically every class that can use it, I don’t understand the problem unless you don’t like the skin.

That’s kind of a silly desicion isn’t it? All that time and effort, to craft something you don’t even use.

As for the idea of selling to a vendor for half the price on the TP – No. All you’d have to do is wait until there isn’t one, find someone with the same weapon, put it up for a ridiculous amount and just get free gold.

If you haven’t transmuted it yet, please hold off. Once they make legendary gear have flexible stats you may be happy you didn’t.

The guy doesn’t use a sword at all, so I don’t really think that the stat changes are going to matter much – Only way it would be of use is if they learned to use it as a main weapon or secondary weapon and put it in the rotation.

1H sword is best dps option for guardian. If you want to play support, you’re truly kittened. Check out Brazil’s build.

Ur right i messed up. I made the predator first then sold it, after that i still needed karma and sps but i wanted to gear out my toon so i just bought foefire’s essence and after that i saw no point in getting a legendary GS, which i should have, and went for bolt. It would be nice to have the option to convert it to pvp bc then i would be using all the time since alot of classes own with the sword in pvp.

Okay i need to clarifiy something. I did not say the sword is a bad weap. I said that the sword is more of a pvp/single target weap. I also said i would like to convert it to pvp, but all u guys seen was refund and went all nerd raged then started commenting( not all of u guys). I do force myself to use bolt just bc i have it but thats only bc i cant use it in pvp unless i WvW which, imo, is way too boring. So this isnt a I Hate Bolt thread, its a extra options for legendaries thread but that still doesnt change the fact that Bolt still needs a huge upgrade. The howler is more noticeable!!!! that says enough.

Actually the one-handed sword can cleave.

The only option that interests me is converting a soulbound item (including a legendary) to account bound for a fee. This would keep items out of the economy and would not affect gold directly. Obviously, it would have an impact in that you wouldn’t need to purchase the item for an alt, but the impact would be somewhat contained. This would be a huge quality of life measure for all altoholics I’m sure.
