After spending the time, gold, and materials have you ever felt let down by your legendary weapon? Did you think it would be so much more than it turned out to be?

Sure the animations are cool and swapping stats is nice, but for all the effort you could have made a couple ascended with the differing stats.

I knew they didn’t have boosted damage stats from ascended weapons.

What was the draw to make a Legendary weapon for you?

The skins are typically what I enjoy. Obviously also the effects. I started making them back when we had Soulbound Legendary weapons without stats swapping. If I like how it looks, if it has a cool effect that can fit a theme I’m going for, I’ll make it. I have no regrets, I like my collection. I also really loved the Legendary crafting collections/quest, so I’m sad to see those go because of them being time consuming to make. Making Eureka just wasn’t the same as making Nevermore and Chuka and Champawat.

No regrets here. I do it for the effect and how it fits my chars. I’ve had Eternity for years now, still able to get lost in its effect. Made six so far and feel the same about each of them.

Probably the only one was Aurora. Not being fully previewable, it was difficult to see how it would look on all my toons. Sadly it doesn’t look great on most of them, except one of my least used ones.

I don’t actually regret the process though, since I thoroughly enjoyed working through the collections and maps. It gave me a renewed purpose i was lacking recently, but the end result has not quite lived up to the journey.

Usually I make a theme fit around a legendary, this time it was the orher way rpynd, which was probably the problem.

I can say that i wouldn’t have played gw2 if there were kitten like “different stats for legendary equipment” like others mmo.

I am not really into legendary items ( made 4 and sold 3 ).
I just, as a main thief, decided to make HOPE for myself… and kitten it, it was totally worth it

It was fun the first time I made one (bifrost), but the 4 I made after that in 2016 and now soon to be 6 all together make me wonder what the hell I’m thinking. But somehow, I keep making legendaries, I guess I might as well use the mats for something. Plus I do love that we can change stats whenever we want on them. But I still say farming relentlessly for my first couple legendary weapons kinda ruined the game for me for a while, so I even took a break because it started to feel like the game was just about farming for gold and completing collections.

In the end, I am someone who is obsessed with customization, so I don’t regret it. Although it is a pain when you make a legendary weapon for a tiny asura character and you can barely see the effects of the weapon… ya know, because it’s so small.

The only one I regret making is bolt, because it looks like garbage. But, I dropped the precursor… so it’s not like I had to go through the whole farm.

The draw was:
1) Having a large multi-week/month project to provide some structure to my playing;
2) Challenging myself to do stuff that I would usually not do, like WvW, fractals and dungeons;
3) the swappable stats;
4) a small urge to belong to the (ever-increasing) Legendary-owning crowd;
5) I wanted to max out my Masterypoints so I figured “why not make a legendary now that I got all the Masteries unlocked for it”

I now have two legendaries, Astralaria and Rodgort and I think my Ranger looks kinda kitten with them both drawn. But yeah, nobody notices, I am sure.

Definately no regrets though, it really spiced up my playing. I especially love to do the Collection achievements, so you will never see me do one of those new Legendaries that do not have these anymore for the precursor.

My first one was Kudzu, and I made it because I browsed through the precursor crafting collections and found the Leaf of Kudzu collection to be looking interesting. I really enjoyed that one, and I still carry around the flowers from collection one and occasionally visit the garden from collection three. In the end I made the legendary simply because I had the precursor and the mats for it (and ended up making a new female asura ranger in the process, because my main male charr ranger wouldn’t be caught dead with a flowery bow ).

My 2nd legendary weapon was one of those “once in a lifetime” happenings. I managed to pull a precursor out of a Silverwastes chest a couple of weeks ago (my only one in 5 years of playing), and it turned out to be the one for the only legendary I had ever considered crafting for its skin, the focus. So now my chronomancers (focus being my favourite mesmer weapon) all carry around the minstrel, and I love its animations and sound effects .

Disclaimer: I never farmed for my legendaries, just used mats I had collected in my regular playtime. The actual making of the legendaries only happened when I had the precursors and noticed my material stash was big enough to go the next step, so there wasn’t really much expectation or anticipation involved .

@OP: I don’t know which legendary weapon you made, but my guess is that it wasn’t HOPE used by a thief.

pew pew pew pew pew….

That’s all that needs to be said, a laser machine gun, double pistols. It’s the most awesome weapon in the game, No Regrats!:

Predator and Kudzu, mainly because rifles and longbows aren’t great in game. Though Predator may come into its own when Deadeye is released.
