EDIT: i was just contacted in game by a moderator. THANK YOU ANET for the quick response and compensation. This has deffinetly made the ecto bug a little less painful.

id just like to know if there were ANY plans to compensate the people who lost untold amounts of gold, ectos, rares, gems, ect while this whole process to figure out the Ecto salvage bug was going on. This affected ALOT of players but not all.

i my self spent ~20$ on gems( and then blk kits) only to get half the return rate for ectos over the last 3 days.
I really think that just sweeping this under the rug and chalking it up as "unintended bug so its not our fault " is the absolute worst decision possible.
PLEASE Anet restore some of my faith in you and compensate people with something… Anything!

Good luck with that in that if you are compensated then so should everyone because it would be close to impossible IF AT ALL to check EVERY ACCOUNT to see if they were affected by this because not everyone salvages rares/exotics.

I think the man power needed to compensate everyone appropriately is not the sort anet can afford to spare. And if they are going to do that with a script… my memory about the karka chest compensation tells me it will open up another can of wurms for them.

Yeah, after i noticed I was barely getting any, I did a quick search a few days ago and it was obvious something was up so I just started hoarding my rares. I doubt there will be any compensation but at least you’ll learn from your mistake.

Your mistake? That’s a bit much. I don’t expect anybody to compensated either, but saying it’s the fault of the players?

Quite a few people carried on to record data about it, so that they could present it to the powers that be and have the problem looked at. They did all of us a service by doing so. I know it would take time, but I’d like to see at least the people that posted serious, hard numbers in that thread get something for it.

Eh, all I lost was 2 Rares, so I’m not going to make extra work for the ANet support staff. I agree that the people who did the hard research salvaging hundreds of Rares/Exotics to prove the bug should be compensated for their work though.

Maybe they will. It wouldn’t be hard to go through that thread and see who did what.

I agree we should be compensated. They should make new, highly challenging, highly rewarding dungeons, new PvP modes (just add in different modes I mean), and unlock lvl 50+ fractals. Do that and I’ll feel compensated for this ecto salvage bug!

This is where I think there is a problem when there is a real money mixed with an RNG system. As soon as there’s a bug you’re screwed with little or no recourse.
