Release Shield Offensive!
Engineer – Nobody really cares its all
hammerKits
Fixed that for you.
Also, as cool as RP’ing Cap might be, main hand shield seems like it wouldnt work well with the already established setups.

Fixed again.
Well, warrior shield is kind of on the offense.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
Dual-wielding shields would rule.
Shield offensive is similar of a suggestion as full melee rifle. Or Bow. It doesn’t make any sense.
A shield will always be a partially defensive weapon at most.
Plus all shields have a offensive component in GW2 regarless.

@FrizzFreston – neither does a ranged hammer, or shooting lasers out of your Greatsword, yet we have that anyway in GW2. Anet could come up with an offensive shield skill set if they wanted to.

An excellent point.
I’ve threw so many hammers and shot so many lasers I forgot that it’s not normal.
I’d love a dual shield haha that would be amazing, one defensive one offensive.
Imagine a thrown shield (Captain America?) bouncing among three close targets. Or like the mesmer thrown greatsword skills (the animation for GS4). I could see an offensive shield either off hand or main hand.

Imagine if you will, a shield weapon built like a yo-yo. Get it spinning and fling it out to a spot, where it will continue to spin and damage enemies (a sustained Whirl finisher? able to move or follow?). Flick it quickly to bounce it between nearby foes in slightly-longer-than-melee range (similar to the Rev’s Mace chain). Whip it to grapple an enemy and pull it toward you, then reverse and charge into them for a sort-of air juggle. Such a weapon could be ideal for battlefield control with sustained area-of-effect damage.
PS: I highly recommend anyone seeking inspiration for (non-magical) offensive Shield-weapons and moves to look up the Rygar games.
