Guild Wars 2

I wont say the game that has this city (booty bay) because of Anet waning to keep discussion only about GW2, but…

I would like to see something similar in GW2, if i recall right, at the New Year the city went into a chaos, and pvp is allowed without the interruption of guards.

Now, there will be a flame of “Oh Noes, No pvp in Tyria, Get the hell out, etc”, but in April Fools this should be awesome to have outside the Vigil Keep, a mess :P

Too late for that anyway, April fools is over in several hours (in my timezone anyway).

… But it’s not the only April Fools we’re going to get, it’s still useful as feedback for upcoming ones…

Imagine that, the bandit type of player, spreading chaos and harassment, in the other side, the Hero type would appear, to stop them.

Thats why pvp bring so much fun and excitement for a mmo.

Nonconsensual PvP in the open world (PvE) would go against one of their most basic design goals. It’ll never happen.

Personally I wouldn’t find it much fun.
Someone causing harassment in a zone would inspire me to leave, wondering when will the little ogre get full of his or her jollies and leave.

Then again I’ve tried the PvP in this game, responded with a “meh” and went back to PvE.

Most PvE players would be rolfstomped by PvPers in dozens. Fun for people who enjoy the PvP, not really for those who don’t.
And you’d get another WvW: single PvE player would be obliterated, so he and others would just blob up. End of the story

Just as people like that introduce so much fun and excitement into real life
…not.
Also, players spreading harassement end up banned in this game. I’d like it to stay that way.

Consensual PvP, not nonconsensual pvp.
Nonconsensual pvp is for people who like to have fun at the expense of others.
Which is absolutely deplorable.

Which is why every MMO ever has had PvP servers, common sense stuff.

PvEers, Roleplayers and Carebears have the majority of servers to be left alone.

PvPers have their own server to start kitten on

usually there is one PvP server, and one RP-PvP server for more hardcore roleplayers.

I’m not a RP person, but I always play on the RP-PvP servers because the communities there are awesome, epic guild/players rivalries etc…
