It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
Maybe it’s me, but I’ve never had a problem with commanders in PvE. It’s nice to see someone at least attempting to organize some of the events, even if I have run them 1500 times before. I’ve noticed a variation in tactics from different commanders, and happily go where directed just to change things up a bit. I always appreciate a “good job” or “well done” from someone, commander or not, when completing an event. It’s nice to be acknowleged.
Heres a suggestion. If you don’t like following commanders, and have something against “bad” or “troll” commanders, don’t follow them. Put them on your ignore list so you don’t have to see them in chat, adn carry on about your business. It’s really not that big of a deal.
This must be something exclusive to the American servers because i’ve never experienced this at all on the EU servers, and i’ve been playing since the 3 day headstart.
To answer the OP, no.
But they should be account bound and/or much cheaper.
But then how do I find those obscure Ori and Ancient Sapling spots?

I don’t think it is based on region. It is just a few people looking for something to complain about for the sake of complaining. They call it making mountains out of molehills. Heaven forbid there be a small blue icon on a map a player can choose to ignore if they want to.
I almost wonder if the people complaining are the ones that flock to the first blue icon they see because they don’t know what they are doing. Then when they see it is a commander not doing what they thought they come here to QQ. I know from my experience I have learned where to find the commander tag worth following and which to ignore. It isn’t really rocket science.
That said, I do support an option to allow players to turn commander tags off. That way those that freak out over a small blue icon on a map won’t have to see it.

Its a joke that you think only Com tag free events are where players “coordinate and participate”.
I’m in favor of an option for players to turn off the Commander tag visual from maps if they so choose. Otherwise this thread is nothing but people kittening for the sake of kittening.
Man I wish there was a way I didn’t have to deal with these PvE commander tag haters on this thread.
Oh wait now… there is! IGNORE
Would be amazing if that same tactic could translate over to PvE tags in GW2. Just AMAZING.

Pretty sure cheshirefox is making the joke, by poking fun at how ridiculous OP’s argument is.

I hope so, Kalarchis. Its hard to tell in this format.
There’s a silly amount of kitten over a blue dorito. Is it really that distracting?
Meh, the only thing is that in the current economy the tag should be worth at least 400g, not mere 100… A year ago only the most dedicated players were willing to spend such a huge amount of cash on a blue dorito. Now it’s a few days of farming tops.
I like the ever-present blue tags. They help me avoid the megaserver zergs. And free up the maps a bit, compressing the populace in a few spots. Gives others some breathing space.

That I actually agree with.
+1

If I could, I would +1000
I use my tag exclusively for guild events/missions/etc. and rarely pop it unless I’m helping random players with what they request, as it is easier telling them to “come to my tag” than saying I’m NNW of this waypoint. As it stands, I’m trying to learn how to lead in WvW slowly.
These threads pop up often, but I couldn’t resist replying <g>.
I’m not trying to offend anyone, but what is the harm in having a few blue pixels on the map? Is it so distracting that you are unable to play becasue of it?
I totally agree with Ashandar! Plus why is there allways someone trying to dictate to others how to play a video game that they payed for and are useing within game standards? Get over it guys and gals… if you see a blue tag ignore it and go on about your business if it bothers you, or is this a troll thread?
