Remove WvW maps from World Completion
Well, it’s called “world” completion for a reason. World vs. World is part of the whole thing. Honestly, I think Obby Sanctum, and dungeons should be included as well.
The WvW maps are not even on the world map. And at this point with what WvW has become it’s basically impossible to complete the maps.
That’s why it takes months to finish. You need to wait until you become the color you need. Then finish the map as needed.
It makes no sense that the final leg of world completion, after spending so much time completing every PvE map. Is to sit and wait. Relying on the rest of your realm to capture points. World completion should be wholly and completely a PvE objective. Forcing us to map complete PvP areas is a massive fail on ANet’s part.
Here’s my suggestion.
World Completion gives you two Gifts of Exploration, right? So why not split it up into World Completion: Tyria and World Completion: The Mists? Completing either one gives you one Gift of Exploration. Obviously, there’s much more to explore in Tyria than the Mists, but the Mists is held back by the need to wait till you’re a specific colour to obtain many of the targets.
Honestly, have patience and stick with it – you’ll get it. I spent an hour or so per week for a few weeks dipping into WvW to get my map completion. Sure, it was frustrating at times but great payback when you get the last point. Also got me into playing a bit of WvW, which I never had done before. I believe this is one of the main reasons that map completion requires WvW map completion also, so that you are introduced to it.
Compared to the hours put into map exploration in Tyria, WvW map completion is relatively quick.
Good luck!
While mapping WvW maps was annoying, it was expanded my playing experience and made ‘been there done that’ all the more rewarding.
And somewhere along the run, before I realized, I found it fun.
Be in it to win it, buddy.
Edit:
They could, however, make the greatest of all titles by cutting out the WvW maps. Imagine it:
‘Been. There. Done.. o wait…’

Also asking a commander to make a stop of where you want to go helps. thats what I did and finished wvw maps in like a week.
No – I think WvW should be in since it is part PvE and part PvP. It is the best of both worlds – I am getting used to playing WvW.
Hell I think they should include the few (nothing special) POIs in the heart of the mists to map completion. Granted those aren’t hard to get but it would make people realize OH HEY, there’s this PvP place too.
When we get new maps, I want more heart quests and another set of maps to complete.
The Mists are part of the maps but they’re in the mists…a different realm/dimension which is why you don’t see them on the main map.
So if they’re in another Relam/dimension, why do they count towards the world completion, if they do not reside on the world.
*they’re
They are part of the world…or rather Tyria is part of the mists.
“The Mists is the oldest thing in existence, the proto-reality that exists between the worlds, constituting the fabric of time and space that connects the multiverse together. Within the Mists are worlds (of which Tyria is just one), each with their own realities and histories, floating as islands in the ether. " http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Mists
So then Give us World Completion and Mists completion. Totally fine with that. Don’t subject the PvE players to the lackluster PvP that is WvW.

I’m a PvE player who has done map completion 8 times. It isn’t that bad. Frustrating some times when you just want that last vista/POI/skill point but really not that bad.
