CoE I think is the worst.. its usually always contested and the event usually takes like 30min to open it. One time i joined a pug, wasted 30min to do the event and when we’re halfway through p1 I realize they’re all noobs. We end up wiping and the party disbands.. huge waste of time. pls remove contested dungeons or at least do something about kittenin megaserver. the entire party is usually stuck in the same map, and its almost always contested when i join.

Megaserver came up — probably — because if another member of the party had been in a different shard, the instance might have been open. This would have meant they fell apart without having spent the half hour to open the dungeon.

Its partly megaserver’s fault. If I had known the group was that bad I wouldn’t have even bothered. Instead we waste more than 30 min to do the event that opens it, and then disband halfway through the dungeon because some of them mess one part up. maybe its just bad luck, but almost every dungeon I join is contested. for a cof p1 fast run, the event to open it takes like 10 min… we could’ve finished the run by then. Before megaserver, we could just guest and open. Now its a real waste of time…

I don’t run dungeons, but I agree with his request. I’ve seen too many stories of “we cleared the entry event, went in for a very fast run, and came back out to a new instance where it’s closed again”. As I doubt they’ll undo the megaserver, they need to keep the dungons from being contested. Keep the events, just change them a little as needed.

As I doubt they’ll undo the megaserver, they need to keep the dungons from being contested. Keep the events, just change them a little as needed.

Agreed. People who aren’t doing the dungeon should still get the events to do. I’ve never heard anyone doing these dungeons say, “Oh boy, this is fun, I get to do some events before I can do the dungeon!” At best they don’t complain, or — before MS — just guest to a server where the entrance was open.

This happened yet again, on an all path run for CoE. right after we finished 1 path, the dungeon is contested and takes 30 min to open it. you can see how frustrating this is for speed runs especially..

I like the flavor of dungeons being contestable. But the events could be shorter for opening it. Honestly, I’d like all dungeons to be contestable, but that wouldn’t make sense with Caudecus’ Manor. Well, a way could be found.

Dungeons are meant to take time. Just because players learned to speed run them or have figured out the optimal ways to go through them fastest, doesn’t mean we should ensure they’re short.

Improving the contesting so that you don’t land in an instance where it was never opened recently could be improved. Having greater chance to return to the shard you were in previously. But don’t remove contestable dungeons on a whole please.
