Remove deleted accounts from our blocklists
Everyone’s block list? I delete gold sellers after they go dark. By my experience they are banned by then and don’t light up again.
You can always put a nickname on them, say the month, and delete them when a month is up if you are worried about deleting one this is still operating.
ANet may give it to you.

That is a useful solution to sort of fix the problem. But I have to agree with Surbrus. There is no reason why deleted and permanent inactive accounts should stay in block lists. It’s not like they will ever come back (and even if it was a hacked account that gets restored. chances are you might want to hear from that person again once the true owner has returned).
It shouldn’t be something to complicated to implement. If need be make it a button you press that checks all accounts in your list for if they are still active.
Every time I block, I unblock the last name on the list to keep it to one page.
Idk, you’re asking then to put in some sort of account checking method to see if that account was banned and then have the account automatically remove itself from your block list when all that required is for you to go through every few days and remove every goldseller that’s dark. It’s been my experience that goldsellers don’t last 24 hours after being reported. If you clean the list of all dark names once a week right before logging out for the day, then it’s highly unlikely one will still be active and whisper you.

Dude. Just delete them after a while, unless you have like a dedicated stalker or someone you really don’t want to share a PvE map with. Add a nickname to those.
But yeah, all the jibberish ones are bot/seller accounts and most if not all of them are long dead.
I flush my list weekly. I’ve never had the need to ban a real player.
RIP City of Heroes
I believe banned accounts are never deleted. Or at least not in a long time.
Accounts do not get deleted, they are just closed incase they get are able to succesfully appeal their ban.
I also see no reason why they should be automatically be deleted from your block list. There seems to be no limit on the block list, so who cares if you have 1000+ people blocked?
My block list is insanely long and once you are on it chances are low to get ever removed from it again. I still see people logging in on it which blocked 2 years ago.
I understand people wanting to prune their block list, even if the reasons will never seem entirely sensible to others.
But since they are individual reasons, I also don’t think the game needs to cater to those preferences. I nickname anyone I put on the block list, except for gold sellers and temporary issues (e.g. someone in guild chat blathering on during a g-mish; blocking allowed me to see the relevant chat). Any account without a nickname gets removed from the list.
I end up with a manageable list and a good idea of why those accounts are blocked.
If they did this you’d be able to tell how efficiently they deal with (or not deal with as the case may be) WvW hackers, trolls and griefers. So it’s unlikely we’ll see this ever implemented.
I would just love it for the sake of god, if ANet would finally remove that stupid follower list from the game and add the mechanic to the game, that for getting “friends” added, you need to accept a friendship request…
the way how anet handles the current system,s the whole communication and chattign stuff i nthis game is WORSER THAN FACEBOOK and thats some kind of bad achievement to achieve first, one must say to design a communication system, thats worser functionizing than what FB offers…seriously
We live in 2015 and not in 1985, there should be more and better communication organization options in and for our friend lists.
When I want to kick someone permanently from my “follower list”, assuming Anet is so insistent to keep that crap for whyever,, then it should be everyones personal choice to kick Person X permanently from the own follower list.
But as the system works now, once sombody follows you, that person basically will follow you into all eternity, even that person becomes inactive and never returns, but that stupid following just spams your list bigger forever making it harder and harder to actually keep that list clear >.>
I like to collect all their dfjklghadlha; names, lol

No I like my follower list. I have like 1000+ people following me.
Followers are not your friends, so no reason to be able to kick them.
