Tyria, Underworld
Remove miniatures from compass / minimap
Tyria, Underworld
For me it’s often useful to know where my minis are. The reason? Lag.
If I’m lagging and don’t know it and see my mini far behind or stopped I know to stop moving so that I don’t run off a cliff and die or agro mobs I can’t handle while lagging.
They shouldnt even be allowed in wvw. There is enough clutter and lag as is.
That’s a good point Astral – but maybe to fix that problem they could have a lag-o-meter like the one that featured in Guild Wars 1 – a small circle that shows in red, yellow, or green depending on the last ping time.

Seems easy to me Put it away. No confusion there just common sense.

True Statement right there. CS is severely lacking in this world these days.
I would like an option to show or hide everyones’ minis and definitely an option to hide them on the map. I can only assume that somehow they use the same code as things like hunter pets and that’s why they show a dot. There’s certainly no real reason for them to be shown on the minimap.

I just love it when I meet a mesmer or thief with a mini – good thing you invested that much in stealth just to have a mini follow you.
I support this. The added dot on my compass actually led me to not use Minis in the first place. I don’t collect them as a result.
I agree. This has always annoyed me. Mini’s don’t serve much of a purpose to begin with but enjoy them and I enjoy having one active. But in WvW when I see a green dot on the map I always have to remind myself it’s my mini and not another player.
