I’ve heard that over 30 times for no reason. I suggest there is a button to report people who report people for no reason.

I also think this whole thing of everyone being able to report everyone is stupid. You can get 40 friends to report someone, what happens then? Also people constantly report others for not agreeing with them or just for not liking them .. its such a lame function its like “IMMA TELL MY MAMA THAT U ARE A BAD PERSON AND SHE GON BAN YO ESS”

This happens in every online game with chat/gameplay moderation.

All The reports are reviewed by a mod before anyone gets banned.

I also believe, that inappropriate reporters will receive punishment for abusing the report system.

Yeah I’d imagine that’s a huge majority of what they’re doing right now seeing as how gold farmers seem to be able to steal accounts like a mof****.

Someone should start crunching some data, just for curiosity’s sake. Every time you see “reported” you can guarantee they’re a League of Legends player. Might be interesting to see how many of them play GW2.

Two things:

1) They already warn you against abuse of the report function when you use it. So false reports can also lead to sanctions. This is already in place.

2) Secondly, a lot of those people just say they reported you for whatever. Doesn’t mean they actually did. The people who actually do it will change tactics and just report you for reporting you…even if you didn’t. Would you want a button then for reporting people who reported you for reporting them?

Usually when they say “reported” aimed at you they did not report you, but try to tick you off or make you afraid or something. The only times I think someone actually did it, is when it is aimed at a gold spammer. It is a way to bluff and simply big talk. I do not see any added value to let someone know that you reported him/her, which also makes me believe it is simply said “to win” a conversation.
