Megaservers.

Unless you’re all trying to do World vs World stuff together, or some are EU and some are NA, then it shouldn’t make a difference what world they’re in. Just get them to party up with you and right-click ‘Join in..’ with you if they end up in a different megaserver.

Can’t they just delete their account and create a new f2p on the server that you clearly tell them too?
and F2P have restrictions for a reason. I would hazard a guess that Anet will never change them to what people who have paid for the game have.

and do you really think I (or others) would delete 5 lvl 80’s (or more) with ascended gear and legendary just to change a server?

The reason a paid account can do it while a free account can’t is because having a paid account grants you all the perks; having a free account doesn’t. I think it’s good the way it is, honestly. And your friends can always just make new free accounts on the correct server if you’re playing in wvw or just keep their current accounts if you’re playing pve/spvp.

Which server would they be transferring to?

When suggesting gw2 to friends, Make sure you tell them to join your server.

This is untrue for everything except WvW.

Megaservers mean you can play with anyone in the same timezone in pve or pvp.

If it’s a free account couldn’t they just make another account? even if they were paid they would lose their characters to transfer unless they wanted to pay more to do so.

Also, a free account that is then turned into a paid account is giving 1 free world transfer.
