Q:
Request Increase Cap of Guild Membership
Actually many will say it needs to be reduced. With so many in multiple guilds, most guilds have little or no interaction, and are members in name only.
Any reduction will ruin GW2 for me, sorry.

That won’t change if the cap is reduced; even in games with a limit of one guild, there’s often little interaction and members are in name only. Guilds are social organizations, with some members deeply committed and some lukewarm. (And of course, some joining just for the freebies, if there are any.)
No single guild can address all the interests of most players. So, I’ve been in WvW-focused guilds, a raid training guild, friends from GW1, and, well a different group of friends from GW1. I wouldn’t be pleased to have to choose.
On the contrary, I’d be very happy if ANet offered the option to add another guild, even if it cost gems.
As someone who isn’t overly social I honestly cannot understand how you can possibly be in more than 10 guilds that you interact with regularly enough to not want to drop any of them.
I’m not opposed to this idea, and I think selling additional guild slots could be a fantastic way for ANet to generate more gem sales, but I can’t comprehend the need for it.

By that argument the maximum size of a guild and the number of character slots should all be reduced since there is no way anyone is going to be able to keep track of half a dozen character names across hundreds of members.
I wouldn’t mind having another 3 guild slots; while I’m not the most social of creatures I would love the opportunity to converse and interact with other members of the community and make connections across the game.
The problem here is that people have personal guild banks most likely hence they want more for normal guilds.
I got 3 personal guild banks myself and 2 slots for normal guilds is more then enough Imo
You only need 1 slot for infinite number of personal guild banks. Just make free accounts for each and invite the main account into the guild as needed.
I’m not asking for personal guild banks, I am asking for guilds with people. I take it by your argument that you’re one of those people that joins a guild, takes whatever you want out of it and leave or perhaps even straight up refuse to join a guild.

No need to throw around accusations – I think he has a point. People are notoriously good for looking out for numero uno, after all.
In any case, I think we need initiatives to make guilds special again – to fight for repping rights, and to reward guilds with actively participating members. More guilds wouldn’t change this – and would probably enable the community to spread further by joining many smaller guilds.
I think that if you are overly social and are interacting with all of the guilds that you have a membership too then requesting this is totally fine. I cant, however, see Anet granting your request since five guilds seem to be sufficient for most of the community.
I am guildless by choice and have been in several over the last 4+ years. All guilds offer the same thing … none , except one, ever delivered it. I get more help and more fun out of the general community than I ever have in guild chat/ guild interactions so I think its pointless. (wishes I had used those commendations before leaving last guild :P)
Good Luck!
