[Request]Make Exp Modes account-bound
Totally agree, 3+ years later this is still a thing, just another example of poor execution from Anet.
I can see this being a reasonable request.
Story mode is attached to the character, not the account. It should stay that way since it is a way to get XP to level up your character. The same as WP’s and crafting. All tied to the character and not the account. Take all that away and you are left with very few ways to get as much XP to level a character and every one after the first will take wwwwaaaayyyyy longer to level.
Wouldn’t an easier solution just be to remove the story mode requirement as a pre to doing explorable. I’m not sure people really care about the linearity of progression here and those who do will do it in order without being forced to anyway.

but people dont run story mode as a specific way to level chars, there are way more efficient options to do that. dungeons are only unlocked at the appropriate char level as it is.
i would be in favor of account binding story modes as i dont see it being a game breaking change. it would simply make it easier. those people that constantly run dungeons over multiple alts wouldnt have to be forced to run a story line just to replace a class in the team.
I have 3 accounts with over 30 toons. I also suffer from fibromyalgia, which causes memory issues. Finding the right toon to open a dungeon is a pain, and one reason I don’t bother.

This would be the simplest solution. It’s not like running story mode is going to help you much with explorable mode anyway.
As for linearity, I ran them out of order despite starting at around 2 months after the game’s release. I don’t think that was ever relevant.

Because you can only run story mode once and it’s the absolute best way to gain xp if you actually run it.
On topic, I’d like to see that. There’s no reason for it to be this way (except for Arah maybe because of the tie into the PS but even so, meh).
Then again, nobody is doing dungeons anymore anyway. And ANet probably doesn’t care. :^)
