Trench coats, long coats and something in between, this is all I have available to wear as a human male ranger.
There isn’t a single coat that doesn’t have something hanging over the but of my character so I’m asking you Anet designers to make a simple shirt, vest or a short coat that ends above the pants.
It doesn’t have to be fancy, it doesn’t even have to be part of a set. Just put it into the gem store and I WILL buy it!
Edit: It can even be invisible so it doesn’t take too much time.

Yeah I don’t know why they bother skinning pants, its not like you ever see them.

Yeah some pants have detailed belt areas but there is no way to see that with every single coat blocking it.

FYI, female Krytan armor from the gem store isn’t a coat. But yes, the Medium armor designs are way to samey.

And that is just some of the male ranger sets that was in GW1
Personally I really want the female elite druid for my sylvari (or something slightly similar)
I know reskinning is somewhat frowned upon, but I kinda think it is different with GW1 skins. For those that did play GW1 it will be nice to see something from the old game they loved too come back to life and for those that did not play GW1 it is new skins entirely, as there is nothing like them (most of them) in GW2 yet.

They clearly can’t bring all the sets back, but say 1 or 2 for each gender and each profession that was in GW1 (there we already have a lot of skins), make a large puplic poll, link to it in news feed on login screen, link to it on their facebook page, link to it here on forum, so as many as possible see it and get to give their vote.

Life doesn’t stop being funny just because the dead can’t laugh.

Recognizing a class by its gear is something needed in pvp + wvw. Medium armor needs to differ from light and heavy at a glance. The fix is to play another class. You would be doing yourself a favor, Rangers are probably the least fun class to play, followed closely by necros.

Let’s just stop with this silly excuse. Unless you are knowledgeable on GW2 fashion, someone could easily dress up one armor class to look like another (and if you are on knowledgeable on armor skins, you don’t need “medium armor should always carry a trench coat”).
If you really wanted to recognize someone in WvW/sPvP you’d tweak your graphic settings to normalize armor in each class.

Your first argument is pretty silly considering existence of combat tonics.
Oh and Rangers are my second favorite class in the game and I found them by far most fun to play out of all 3 medium professions, especially their melee combat.
