Request - Mini-Pets on all characters
Hmm… I do agree that a Minipet slot, completed with a minipet inventory similar to how Rangers can choose which pet is in the slot, would be a great QoL update. So, /supported I guess.
Agreed, this is an obvious issue. There’s no reason to have the current system as it stands.
I’ve suggested a mini-pet slot many times. At this point, I’d like to see soulbound minis (like the orange tabby kitten) account bound so we don’t have to carry a copy on every character :P
Correct. Like the wardrobe, a pet once unlocked should be available on all characters. It is a big inconvenient to buy it with gems or gold multiple times or login-logout to have it on next character, then the next, next; or repeat the transfer each time the character gets changed.

This is just what it’s like with the unlimited tools…………………
Both should have a storage option in the hero panel and be selectable from anywhere.
I agree that a mini pet slot and the ability to slot them in directly instead of carrying them in your inventory would be a good idea.
I’ve never had the same problem as the OP describes, because I’m a mini pet collector I have far more minis than characters and prefer to use different ones on each character so as many as possible get used. But it would be nice to be able to swap them without going back to the bank. Some of my characters can go a week without visiting the bank and it gets boring to use the same mini(s) all that time.
I’ve heard before that it’s a technical limitation – the game couldn’t handle every player on a full map also having a mini with them. But I would have thought they could solve that by doing something like GW1 did where there was a separate cap for the number of minis and if you tried to get one out when that limit had been reached you got a message saying something like “There are currently too many miniatures in this map.”
In GW1 that pretty much only happened during festival finale’s when everyone was in the same town, and then only if you were in a full district. So I doubt it would happen often in GW2 and if it did most likely it would be in a situation where no one would care because usually maps only fill up for big boss fights and other events like that when you and everyone around you is too busy to notice minis anyway.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
So, any other people think this is a good request? Or they just like the mini-pet system as it stands?

As have I. At this point I think that a mini-pet slot has been requested almost as many times as mounts have. lol
Also just to note, though the Orange Tabby Cat (HoM reward) does become soulbound once it is in your inventory, depositing it to your collections makes it account bound again and can be withdrawn by another character. Their being Soulbound on Acquire is pretty pointless due to this behavior.
Also, since they stack in the collections tab in your bank, you can keep multiple Orange Tabby Cat in your collections tab to always have a supply of them for other characters. Be sure to hold ALT and drag one out to your inventory to remove just one from the stack instead of dragging the whole stack into your inventory. I Think I had almost 30 in my collections at one point for no other reason than because I could.

I have 15 orange tabby cats because when the game first came out I wanted to test whether I could get more than 1 and somehow decided the first 14 weren’t proof. Someone in my guild has a screenshot of about 5 stacks of them in their bank.
I like using them (or the other HoM minis) on temporary characters. It doesn’t feel right to not have a mini with me but I always worry that I’ll accidentally forget to deposit it when deleting the character, even though I always check about 5 times for anything valuable.
Incidentally you don’t need to hold alt to remove just 1. I’m not sure why, you do with most collectables but with the minis it only removed 1 at a time.

On any other mini I noticed you didn’t need to hold alt to remove just one, but with the orange tabby cat I found I had to hold alt otherwise the entire stack gets withdrawn and individually placed into my inventory as they don’t stack there like they do in the collections. :\ Maybe it’s just me. Having to manually shove 20+ cats back into the collections gets old fast when I forget to hold alt when I grab one. :P
