Bump, just one lil bump, then I’ll leave this in the hands of fate~
So much yes…. the lack of dye channels on that drove me nuts..
There are quite a few pieces of armour that only have 3 dye channels where I’ve desperately wished for 4 so pieces that take dye very differently don’t have to share a colour.
In many cases it’s put me off using armour that I’d otherwise love to have.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
A lot of armors have really bad dye channels. Like the worst I’ve seen is Aetherblade light pants. One channel covers the entire thing except the belt, even though it has two very distinct parts, in addition to patterns and such, and then the belt alone has two channels—one for the buckles.
You all feel my pain.
I have the same problem with the asura medium T2. It only has TWO dye channels, and the way they are set up… is just the stupidest thing… you HAVE to dye the upper part of the CLOTH coat the same color as the METAL chest piece which sits over the coat, which just completely breaks the entire thing and makes it unusuable if you aren’t willing to dye the whole piece of armor one color.
Dye channels should be seperated firstly by pieces, and then have a trim and body option for as many pieces as possible. But there are so many that just look like they were decided by… I don’t even know what, just drawn at random it seems.

Or sometimes only 3. I feel that there should be a standard: the more difficult/expensive the skin is, the more channels it should have (for its type). Gem Store armor should always be at max, as should T3 cultural and orders armor (strictly gold sinks).
However, I can’t imagine that it’s a good use of time for ANet to return to old skins, when we keep on ‘demanding’ more new skins than they seem to be able to deliver.
Yeah they are old skins, but it would be nice if they polished up things from the past, instead of outright abandoning them as they move forward. There are very few cultural armors too, so they ones they have should be in tip top shape!
