First, let me just say that big, hulking, menacing swords are great. We have a lot to choose from in this category.

That said, I would like to see a few more rapiers. Bonnetti’s Rapier is my favorite sword skin. It’s perfect for light classes like sword wielding mesmers.

A legendary rapier would be fantastic!

I wanna see the chain whip sword make a comeback since I was inactive when it was sold.

There are 3 rapier type skins in game that I know of. What stops you from putting one of those skins on Bolt?

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you reskin a legendary don’t you forefeit all the cool visual affects, which is what I thought legendary weapons were all about, since they have the same stats as ascended weapons?

Correct, you’d lose the special effects. A legendary rapier might be neat, and might make a good contrast with Bolt, which is a fairly wide and elaborate sword blade. Might be a little tricky to design, since the blade is so thin, but there are possibilities there.

I agree! It would be a challenge to design, but I think the Anet artists could do it justice.

A few ideas for themes off the top of my head:

• Time themed with distortion/blink effects
• Whip/Serpent themed
• Spirit/Phantasm themed

Google for “images magic rapier” and you’ll see a number of designs and effects.

For a subtle part, I’d love there to be a scabbard, a proper hanger style one, even if it vanishes when you draw the blade (akin to the Belinda GS scabbard). Bolt’s already got blue electric effects. Perhaps something golden? If it looks highwayman enough, gold coins twinkling about? A golden shimmer to your character? Instead of the broad sweep of Dawn/Twilight cuts, a thinner streak from the tip, maybe composed of golden musical notes? Combat sounds made of musical chimes of steel? Footsteps, thinky thinky thinky, little splashes of gold coins? I’m sort of liking the dashing highwayman swashbuckler feel, I guess. But all these suggestions are just random ideas, not something I’m claiming would be the Best Thing Ever.

Definitely something sleek and flashy. Platinum white and gold. Maybe even something like the sword of dancing from old school Dungeons and Dragons, where the sword is animated apart from the character wielding it.
