Request for Female Asura Outfits
Dwayna and Mad Scientist outfits look surprisingly excellent on female Asura. All tastes are different, so you may not like them- but worth looking at.
Mad Scientist doesn’t have a feminine look to it, but it has nice proportions and dyes look nice on it. My female asura engineer with the head piece off looks very cute. The Dwayna one is well proportioned and feminine, and I think it looks nice on all three class types depending on your aesthetic choices. Neither outfit is revealing in any way. (Though how asura are like human children in the first place is beyond my imagination, I agree that the armors and outfits that leave them with a lot of skin revealed doesn’t look good. More because it makes them look like stuffed animals than anything else.)
All that being said, I would love to see more outfits and armors that are designed for other races besides human and not armors that are designed first for human female and then appropriated (or at best, poorly tailored) to fit other races and genders.
With perhaps a few exceptions (sylvari, norn, and asura cultural, specifically) most of the armor in the game seems as though it was designed this way: Human female—> human male —> norn —> sylvari —> asura male —> asura female —> charr male —> charr female.

but right now, i’m just really sad at the 2 outfits i listed…..
and the one i wish they would give to females =/
Why would Asura (a completely different race than humans) use the same gender styling as us?
Asura and Charr are very far from human, and thus it would be silly to add the same gender styling to them as to the human-like races.

why would sylvari use the same as humans?
the thing i’m pointing at is that the females and males are using copy pasted outfits which annoys me.
while humans, sylvari, and norn actually had effort put in to give some variety to the outfits.
and when you look at other outfits, female asura might not care for “beauty” but they do make an effort in most of their outfits.
and then the 2 i listed are….
well the first one is just lazy….you couldnt give an asura a dress? they have a dress from the twilight arbor dungeon…..but no dress for the noble outfit?
the 2nd one…the pedo bait outfit, is….really lazy again. copy pasted from the male when they could have made a really unique female version-instead of a outfit that might work for males, but would get you arrested if a female showed up wearing it for indecent exposure (i don’t mean revealing like the human version, i mean demonic looking in a way that doesn’t copy paste)
as for the 3rd, i jsut want that on my female one, which is ironic as thats one of the outfits that actually has a seperate female/male look…and yet both of them work for female, but we only get 1 =(
all in all it gives the impression that Anet is putting very little effort into the outfits for asura, compared to the other races.
hell most asura outfits seem so similar to eachother that theres only some that truely stand out.

Because sylvari are made in the image of human.
Humans, Sylvari and Norn are all human-shaped, and thus using a human-like styling logic make sense.
Charr and Asura however, does in no way or form resemble humans, and thus it would make little sense for them to use the same kind of styling as humanlike races.
You are trying to apply human-like styling on non-human races, which makes very little sense.
Male and female humans dress differently because they are physically different. That is not the case with Asura.

not really
first off, how do you know asuran styles differ from humans?
and why can’t an asura have a dress?
why must it be like this
http://i.imgur.com/HdKkqM8.jpg
why can’t we have the option for a dress like this?
http://i.imgur.com/SQk8KTF.jpg
and why can’t female asura wear this (male or female? by your logic, females should be able to wear that)
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/3/37/Daydreamer%27s_Finery_Outfit_asura_male_front.jpg/292px-Daydreamer%27s_Finery_Outfit_asura_male_front.jpg
and heres a bunch of examples where the styles do differ between genders. which shows your point is invalid.

so which is it
do male and female asura differ physically(or mentally, aka what tastes do they have in fashion)? in which case, the things i listed make sense
or do they not differ physically(or mentally, aka what tastes do they have in fashion)? in which case why do they differ in those designs.
and in both cases
why can’t i wear this
keep in mind its a human playing the asuran character. so by default, human styles will be put them because its a human thinking up the outfit.
also, Asura do differ physically. thats why your able to say “this asura is female, and this one is male”
and its also why they have female voices, and male voices.
(edited by arenta.2953)
and lastly, remember that the character in game is the player
aka, for me, i would wear what i want, because my asura is me.
if i want to wear a dress, i would……except that option isn’t available……cause someone at Anet got lazy and decided to copy paste this outfit, when the other outfits are actually unique.
Ok pretty basic request
i want the gem store outfits for female asura outfits to….well be female.
so instead of this
http://i.imgur.com/HdKkqM8.jpgwe can have the female version
http://i.imgur.com/SQk8KTF.jpgand instead of…..well…the pedo bait outfit (i’m gonna keep calling it that)
http://i.imgur.com/iQs9qYd.jpgits (ironically) more covered with a better design…
http://i.imgur.com/RoHv7AH.jpgand heck, while i’m at it
to be a female one (could be a 2nd outfit to buy)
I actually like the first one. It’s cute. I see great female Asura outfits all the time though I still agree that more outfits never hurt (for any race and gender)
I’ve included a couple of attachments of female Asura. The problem with a lot of human female armor is…well, very few if any modest options at least from what I’ve seen.
This topic keeps cropping up. Personally, I enjoy the equality aesthetic for my female asura. Hoorah for the ability to wear pants on a female light armor class! I absolutely do not understand why some people want to “girlify” female asura.
That said, I appreciate more choices for everyone. So, can my female asura please have the option to wear the spiffy Wintersday coat and not a poofy dress? Likewise, please give people the option to wear dresses if they choose.
This topic is getting worse than the mount threads…
Asura are not humans and do not define gender the same way and what you call female, they might not. They also do not have boobs and shouldn’t be given outfits with boob windows, yet they are. Also, try wearing the daydreamer’s finery and not feel like a pedo…. I’d like them to stick to the non-sexualized stuff please.
I don’t care either way, but I would like them to be consistent with it. Some outfits are gender neutral, while others have both male and female versions.
I’ve had a problem with this too. Why is it the examplar outfit female human can be mimic’d for asura female but not the noble count outfit:(
Both have similar tops yet the noble outfit isn’t female at all instead we get the male human version. This is poorly done and sad. Would much rather have the dress.
If you compare the the armour skins for male and female asura, it’s only (some) of the newer additions that are based on the human female designs. All (I couldn’t find a single set that didn’t) of the launch armour shared its design between both sexes.
If Anet wanted them to wear the human female variants, they could have done it with any of the sets they originally made, but they didn’t. They’ve only started to do so because people were asking for it, and thus were more likely to spend money buying gemstore outfits and armour.
Profit>intended character designs and lore, it would seem.

never said they need “boob windows”
all i want is a dress <.<
you can make a dress without cleaveage. but a dress none the less. which would be far better than a butler outfit.
and regardless, i want this on my female….but no? according to peoples argument an asura would have no problem wearing this.

I am aware you didn’t mention boob windows. But the reality is if the asura get the female version of something and the human/norn/sylvari version has a boob window the asura will have it too. Asura look like CHILDREN and shouldn’t have such a thing on their outfits, not to mention it just looks really dumb. I’ll take the male/gender neutral outfits over this any day.
And yes the male outfit for the daydreamer finery is bad too, but there is something much creepier about the female version… probably because if the bottoms didn’t have this tinted underwear thing you’d see… things. Which is much worse.
…Sneaks in the thread…
“Wait, smurfette has more than one dress? Color me surprised, who would have thought.”

why did i quote that.
cause i agree…..
but…theres a problem
male/neutral DOESN’T work for all outfits.
you don’t see a girl going around in swim trunks.
and so this outfit does NOT WORK

ironically, the female version of this outfit would actually be more appropriate….
also, you can make the female noble dress without a boob window.
just add the top of this

That is just one outfit though, there are plenty of others and I don’t think they should all be given the female option. And yes, while you CAN make an outfit that is appropriate that requires extra resources that Anet has been proven not to spend. I am just being realistic, chances are the extra effort won’t be put in to make the outfits look any good.

they can leave the current ones as is.
but i’d like to see them give us the female versions, even if they are in separate outfits i need to buy
i’m glad asuran female outfits aren’t cleaveage overkill like…well 95% of human female outfits.
but you can avoid cleaveage while making it feminine. (example the dress i linked)
i guess what i’m saying is.
i’m tired of female asura gettign copy pasted male outfits
i choose female for a reason, even if the change to the outfit is minor, it should still have a change from male outfits
otherwise, whats the point of female/male asura.
if they don’t add some effort in making unique outfits…then might as well remove female/male asura
and make genderless asura

Yes you can, but they likely won’t as evidenced by the past with pretty much all their outfits expect one (the new wedding outfit). That is the point I am trying to make and I am not gonna bother explaining it again.
