It’s been almost two months and I’m still wondering when ANet is going to release the reserved names from GW1… Does anyone have any idea?

I believe deleted characters get to keep their name for 24 hours too.

Same, so many reserved names are around still…

I know they had account problems before and that’s why they didn’t release them. Now I feel like it’s a good time.

If someone reserved them and they arent available then someone is obviously using them. Why do you feel the need to know which names were reserved or not. It’s not like you will be able to use them anyways since they are probably still in use.

That is not true. All reserved names are still reserved regardless of if they’re in use or not. You can check this by finding a reserved name and searching for a player with that name in game. If it is not in use, the game will tell you.

Personally, this is an increasingly frustrating issue for having more than one GW1 account (3 in my case), and are still waiting to get access to the character names on the account(s) we couldn’t link to GW2.

It’d be nice to hear a formal response from the GW2 team why this is still being held up

I too would like to hear when these are going to be released. They were supposed to be released a few days after release and here we are at over a month and they are still reserved. Plenty of time has been given to use them if they wanted to create an account. Please release them to the people that have now paid for the game.

My top choice names (that I wasn’t able to reserve in GW1 cuz they’re 1-word) were taken by 9:01 the night before head start.

Perhaps it won’t be as hectic for released names when they do it. But prepare to be disappointed.

On the other hand, I personally know of a dozen GW1 names that are reserved by my family that we didn’t use in GW2. The names are out there…

I know my S.O. doesn’t want others to use her former names in GW2, even though she’s not playing them, to avoid mistaken identity.

I was just talking to an anet employee playing the game that works on GW1 and even he was surprised the names still haven’t been released.. Im still waiting to make my characters GW2 devs >.>
