Retroactive wardrobe?

Been a while since I’ve been on here, so if it’s been discussed already I apologize (although doing a forum search for wardrobe didn’t turn it up, so I’m not sure it has).

As much as I love re-crafting or re-buying every armor design possible to unlock it for my wardrobe, has it ever been discussed to retroactively unlock armor designs? Sure, I can understand it being easier not too, especially with generically-dropped items from baddies, but it seems to me with (particularly with crafting) the list of things unlocked is already there to some extent.

If a character logs in to their armorsmith (for example), and they have it showing that all versions of the armorsmith up to (say) exotic have been crafter, why not just roll those all into the wardrobe without the need to recraft all said items?

Likewise, but to a lesser extent, it would seem like cultural armors (which do have an achievement track since the beginning IIRC) would be able to be rolled in – and I would assume that it would keep track of the specific ones, otherwise a person could buy the same cheapest part and unlock that achievement. I can understand not doing the story-reward armor, as there may be no way to check and say “Oh, they choose this specific armor design over that one” – but the others strike me as a little odd.

That being said, I do love the improvements made to the crafting system – much more streamlined. I also enjoy the wardrobe itself (although I feel less prone to updating my looks now that I have 20 total charges instead of the 60 or whatever sub-80 charges I had before), although it seems like being able to color your outfits (the costume ones) would be a thing.

So yeah, anybody heard anything about this in my absence that I just missed? Anyone agree/disagree? General wardrobe suggestions/improvements/gripes?

Besides that that would be a hell of a work, the fact that you crafted something
wouldn’t say that you really had unlocked the skill since you could also have just
sold it.

For the cultural armor, i’m not sure if they track the exact pieces you bought, or
just the slot, since you just need 6 different items from each tier, but its not
important if it is light, medium or heavy.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

It is a thing. Put on the outfit and go to your dye tab. The top box with four dye channels is for the outfit.

Right now it’s a little hit or miss as to whether it remembers your dye choices (I keep a Word document handy listing my dyes for each outfit for each alt for the frequent occasions when it reverts to gem store default). And when it does remember the choice, it applies that choice to every outfit you equip even if you want a completely different palette. (So that Word document helps if I swap outfits).

This would matter less if we had an alphabetical sort option for dyes instead of having to hunt through them all and remember whether a particular one is in the greens, browns, or yellows. Bronze, you sneaky dye you.

I’ll take a look through it, thanks. I’m starting to think my forum search is broken. I mean, you would think searching for “Wardrobe” would return any and all topics with the word Wardrobe in it, yet mine only returned 2. I haven’t really been around the forums (or game for that matter) since the first day they changed it, so wasn’t sure if it had been talked about anymore than the initial rage/applaud as any new thing gets.

It would be a heck of a lot of work, but you would imagine so was re-doing how the wardrobe worked in the first place. Fair play on the craft-and-sell though. I know I primarily crafter things for myself as I went up the levels, but can forget how other’s do things from time to time.

Thanks! Before now I haven’t really bothered with non-armor costumes, so I somehow managed to overlook that entirely while looking around on how to do it. Bummer to hear that it sometimes “forgets” your dye choices… looks like I’ll have to keep those ones favored for easy access.
