With Heart of Thorns coming out can we retune Orr and other high level zones? Right now in Orr more then half of all way points are contested nearly all the time and there is around 15 million events going on with the 12 people total in the zones not doing any of them.

Can we make it a little bit less, endgamey? It was tuned and designed with the idea that a lot of max levels hang out there. We have Silverwastes for that now. Can we retune the zones to be a bit easier and less headache inducing for world completion?

Disclaimer: Under no circumstance should you take this seriously.

No thanks, most zones are already too easy.

I have to agree with OP to some extent. While the zones are not difficult in terms of individual mobs and even small events, I have noticed that some of the Temple waypoints (and associated Karma vendors) are becoming more and more inaccessible simply because there are not sufficient numbers of players in the area. This is entirely anecdotal on my part…Arenanet probably has good data that shows any shifts in event completion and temple availability.

I don’t necessarily think that the difficulty needs any adjustment…but looking at the scaling and the number of people required for major events wouldn’t be a bad idea, I think.

There’s no need to retune it. Once the Map Rewards come out, Orr should be seeing a good population increase simply by nature of the layout of the zones. If you get special rewards for doing events, the end-game zones with the most events will be frequented, and Orr has many more events than Frostgorge Sound and Southsun Cove.

World completion in all Orr zones can already be done solo, with only a few spots that might cause headaches. Those headaches are typically from Champion enemies, so calling out on map chat for help to kill those Champions should resolve things for you. People still like champ bags.

Really? The population in Orr has declined?

Amazing. Maybe I’ll actually be able to return there and won’t have to compete for every poor zombie that dares to stick out its head among the hordes of mad looters.

The whole game is overcrowded. The megaserver populations are heavily imbalanced. The scaling does not remedy the situation in any noticeable way. Everything is shamefully easy and impossible to lose. We actually need fewer players on each map to make things interesting again.

I like all the things about Orr that the OP described as negatives: lots of events, needing to clear some to open up WPs, chained events, lots of foes.

I wouldn’t mind seeing some zones ‘retuned’, but I’d start at those that get less attention from the community: Gendarran, Snowden, and Mount Maelstrom hardly sees ‘overflows’ (except if there’s a world boss or during guild-mission rush hour). In contrast, Orr gets plenty of visitors.

edit: fixed ‘returned’ to ‘retuned’ (thanks spellcheck?)

All Anet has to do is make pent/shelt events occur just as often as they did in the old days :p

To be honest, I visit Orr on an almost daily basis, and whenever I get there the temples are uncontested. I actually have to wait for the event chains to start if I want to do them. I haven’t seen any signs of low population on those maps either. And I agree, this game doesn’t need to be made easier in any regard. There are contested WP’s because of events on every map, and Orr is no different. Sure, Straits of Devastation has a high number of WP’s that can be contested, and at the wrong time most of them will be, but at the most I regard that as a slight inconvenience. I guess it’s a personal preference, but honestly a walk in Orr is like a walk in the park.

I do events in orr all the time, just put on a tag and people will join you to scale the events up and spam staff 1 for heavy moldy bags. Even without a tag people always show up for the temples
