Return of Aetherized: My dream goal of GW2
Honestly there are old bl skins set really more cool than the new one. I think Anet should rotate sometimes the old skins set (example aetherized, fused etc.) it could be once at year for 2 weeks but at least give a chance to players to buy some old skin (it’s not only about super high prize but many skins are totally out of stock)
I’m certainly wanting the aetherized warhorn back since I prefer its shape to, oh, every single curved fat cylinder that are most of the warhorns in the game. I almost got it a few times back when the weapons were available, I just didn’t have any alts that it suited and ANet hadn’t started retiring sets yet so I didn’t know to get it just-in-case.
Aren’t they from black lion tickets or something? It’s really a stupid greed driven policy from ANET/NC.

Well there is a window of opportunity for Anet, considering next month is the 3 years anniversary. I would like them to do a throw back and temporarily make old Black Lion weapons come back. I don’t see it happening as it would mess up the economy and pricing of already limited weapons people have listed on the TP.
With that being said I do hope they bring back old Gem Store skins again. I want to grab Rox’s Quiver.
I would support this under 1 other condition:
They bring back all old BL ticket skins for at some point in a year individually (as in one week aetherised, next torment etc) for 1-3 tickets.
I’d prefere 1 ticket and I certainly think it’s a fantastic PR opportunity for all the new players you’re trying to get with HoT.
They should bring back Aetherized at least. I mean c’mon. There’s less than ten (guestimate) on the trade post right now. And no one in their right mind is gonna buy something like the Aetherized Greatsword for 3000g.

The shield is the most important one as its a part of my main set. The others are lower priority, but I do use longbow and warhorn. It’s just to complete my character really.
I want the shield too.

Seconded. I hate the concept of items in game being “no longer available” except on TP for thousands of gold. (hyperbole…maybe)
They should never disable the purchase of old skins.
After some years, they should come back, purchasable directly from the wardrobe. Click the wardrobe icon of the skin, get a message with the cost, pay the gems, get the skin. No more black lion chest RNG shenanigans.

No one gets a guarantee of maintained sale value.
It’s speculation, everyone (should) understand this going into it.
You buy something believing it will set for more later on, it’s a risk with zero promise of any return.
I really think they should rotate the stock through a series of tiers, like 1 ticket, 2 tickets, 3 tickets, 4 tickets, unavailable.
So a set starts at one for say a month, two for a month, etc, then unavailable for a period, and then back to one and so on.
Desperately want that skin? pay 4 tickets
Want it but don’t mind waiting? hold on to your tickets until it comes around a few months down the road. (or potentially spend your tickets on other skins in the cycle and have to buy more when it comes back around)

I’d support this and fused as well. Even if they end up stupidly expensive, it is better than not at all. There are some skins from the ranges which have now exhausted the supply on the TP

The horribly bad, RNG gambling addiction exploitation that goes on with that angers me a lot, it’s why I haven’t bought keys at all.
I’d rather be able to just buy the skin I want. I know that doesn’t bring as much money as gambling addiction abuse, and maybe enough people gamble to make up for the rest of us not being willing to, but even if I were buying just a ticket to then take to the vendor that’d work, as long as things cycled better.
I’d be furious if I gambled on keys to get a ticket only to find the weapon now costs 2 or even 3 by the time I got a whole ticket.
I’d feel cheated.

I was a big fan of Scarlet Briar and the lore behind her. So much that I decided to create a character dedicated to her and the conflict with LA. I named this character:
Twisted Aethercharr

The goal seemed straight forward, as I only needed a name change, some appearance change, a certain style and weapon skins. I managed to get myself most the mentioned:

I needed a break after that, and when I came back, the skins were no longe available outside the auction house for large amount of gold.
It would be an understatement to say I was disappointed. Guild Wars 2 is my favorite game, and having my personal goal ripped away from me like that made me rather disappointed and sad. I still needed: Shield, Longbow and Warhorn.
I contacted Anet, asking if there was any alternatives, like getting the skins back or purchasing them unofficially with real money, but no. All they could do was to ask me to make a thread about the issue and hope people would back me up with the following request:
Bring Aetherized Skins back
I know this might be an odd thing to ask of others, but I need your help. I need you to help me get the skins back so I can complete my Guild Wars 2 goal. And for that, I’ve made a poll:

Haha I remember partying up with you for Jormag and fire ele a week or so back, talking about how valuable these skins have become. However, as one of the few lucky ones who own those, I would hate to see them devalued to the point where they become common. Much like the Fused skins, the Aetherized skins are pretty much ’’Legendary" right now.

I do think skins should come back, but only, and I mean only, when the current supply has completely gone.
I say this only to be fair to the people who have set the skin prices that high. Would it be fair for them to be waiting as long as they have for.it to sell only to have that chance taken away by new supply of an item that is supposed to be no longer available.
And before anyone says it. No I’m not one of those people. I don’t think I’d be able to save that much gold to afford the listing fee. I’m way too impulsive, owwwww shiny!

I would like to finish my collections but alas with these prices sooo ridiculously high it is basically un-doable, some skins aren’t even in stock. Sigh.
Btw nice idea for a character.
The worst thing is they added achievements for old black lion weapon sets and never made them available again since then.
1st person worldwide to reach 35,000 achievement points.
I paid 1k gold for the rifle, it would kill me if they brought back the skins. Limited supply is how you make an item truly unique.
I would like to see it come back. I don’t understand the whole special snowflake I have it you can’t type of mentality. It doesn’t depreciate what you have if some one else has it too. I like how they are limited time, but that does not mean that they won’t or shouldn’t ever come back again.
That poll is pretty meaningless though… it lacks any sort of a representative sample (people attracted to this thread will already have an interest in seeing them come back in general).

Remember these items are as valuable to you as they are to me. I paid a lot of money for each piece and if they came back for less, yes that would suck kinda. But essentially, it wouldn’t matter. I still have the items that I bought for what I thought they were worth. And I really want to complete my character!

If Anet brings back the Aetherized skins, I’m even commited to buy those horrible RNG keys to get the tickets. Minimum I need are the hammer and shield. Probably more, because the latest skins are just horrible for me.
