Returning player....
You quit just because of expensive waypoints and no mounts?
There will never be mounts, that I am pretty sure of!
I found that after playing through a ‘rough patch’ in the mid levels, way point costs really do become trivial.
No mounts, don’t think A-net has any desire to go down that route.
Lots of cool updates though, better loot when down-leveled, new dungeon (Fractals of the Mists) and other fun stuff that’s worth coming back for.
About dungeons, do we have LFG tool now?
It won’t have mounts because it’s not true open world. It has loading screens every 3 minutes.
i don’t think they’ll ever have mounts, but as for waypoint traveling
i THINK they made it easier for level 80s to get money, i’ve been able to make 1 gold fairly easily now compared to before where i struggeled to make 10 s
Ryfaul – 80 Warrior
Fluene – 80 Mesmer
About dungeons, do we have LFG tool now?
Not in game, no. But there is gw2lfg.com which is fantastic. Finding dungeon groups is ridiculously easy with it.

Hmm that’s interesting.
If you want open world stuff it is dead. Anet funneled everyone to Lions Arch. That is where the fractal dungeon is. Best loot, best gear and gold ph.
Plinx ect has been nerfed in hopes you either buy gems or do fracs 24-7. So no one does Orr or any other type of open world event. At least on the last 3 servers I have seen this past month. Or if you do you get crap loot drops (nerfed into the ground)
I mean porous bones – cant pay waypoint bad drops.
SPVP-TPVP: done like dinner -dead outside a couple of hours a day.
WvW – stale and old but did add a break out event and new content coming next month.
My wife and I have concluded playing Borderlands 2 to death. Fantastic fun, but we’re ready to come back to GW2, which we enjoyed (but obviously not enough to prevent the BL2 sidetrip).
Not a very encouraging update from this thread. Can anyone list some good reasons why we will enjoy coming back? I think we were only level 35 when we left (I’m patching now). I was a Thief and my wife was a Guardian, that’s about all I recall now.
I recall GW2 being a very refreshing change and we are jonesing for the MMO experience again. SWTOR was a bore. I don’t know of any other MMO of interest right now. Action RPGs are always fun, but D3 was a disappointment. Path of Exile is meh, we finished and got bored with TL2. BL2 was a huge, huge, fit, unbelievably fun and challenging, but we’re BL2’d out farming legendaries now. We will probably go back to BL2 for the Jan 15 DLC#3, unless something else holds our attention until then.
Is there any reason to believe GW2 is going to be it?
Thanks
If you enjoyed 1-35 theres no reason you wont enjoy 35-80 and then a few days of playing at 80. If GW2 holds you beyond that I cant say, but assuming you dont play 12 hours/day it’ll probably be mid-January and you get both the new Borderlands 2DLC (Game is great fun I agree) and the supposed big updates to GW2 then.
tldr: just play again for an evening, if you like it stay if not do something else.
@RegnorVex
I would encourage you to come back to GW2. My wife and I still play quite a bit, along frequently grouping with one of my co-workers and his wife. The game lends really well to playing in duos, and much of the open world content is accessible when worked in pairs.
I’ve been leveling alts off and on through the holiday and have only rarely found zones along the leveling curve where there weren’t others playing on the same map, jumping in on events.
Great game to play and hope you have a good time in it.
