I played the game a bit at launch but due to some difficulties gave it up quickly. I made 5 characters at start, only playing one to the mid 30s and completing nothing. Now I’m back and deciding to pick it up again, but I have a question:

Would I lose or gain anything by deleting characters I already had and starting over fresh, especially considering changes to the game since launch (trait system, personal story, etc)?

Basically deciding if I should keep my original 5 and buy new character slots to keep an edge, or go ahead and wipe em to get the full experience as is.

Also, I hear tons of stuff changing soon for expansion, should I do anything because of that (not play til the new system comes out, horde certain things, rush to complete some things, etc)?

If it matters I ONLY do PvE, mostly solo or with 2-3 friends in the game, and I have very little interest in competition, prestige, looks, social aspects, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Old characters were grandfathered when they changed the qay you acquire traits. Old characters have them all unlocked automaticly while new ones pay gold + skillpoints or have to unlock them one by one by doing certain events/challenges in the world (like defeating boss x or completing map y). So depending on if that sounds fun to you or not, I’d say keep the old characters if you like the race/profession combo.

Characters also get a birthday gift for every year they are “alive” (I don’t know how else to put it xD). Every year you get a different gift, so maybe you’d like to keep atleast one for that (but honestly the gifts are not worth it if you hate all of your characters).

I don’t think there is anything you should or shouldn’t do before the expansion comes out. They’re changing the trait system again, but I’d say just jump in and have fun now as it might still be months away.

Ok, and that stuff is character based, not account? So if I were to delete a character, then recreate it only the new trait rules would apply? If so seems like a good reason to keep what I have and just add slots for new experiences. Thanks.
