I have not played in a very very long time! Maybe 4 months after released.

I install the game every now and then just make sure the account is ok.

So with the Expan coming soon i want to give it another go,

I already have a lv80 Hunter with max jew crafting.

TBH, I dont have a clue where to even start!

Where is everyone hanging out (Most popular area’s) is gear still static at max level?

World bosses have loads of people, and they’re on a set timer now. Servers are no longer a thing in PvE- we have megaserver. Exotic level 80 is still fine, but there is a new tier of gear called ascended. You can find more info about it on the wiki.

Also there are two new maps: Dry Top and Silverwastes. Both are level 80 zones with lots of achievements. Dry Top provides materials. to craft Ambrite weapons, and Silverwastes gives materials for Carapace & Luminescenta. armor. Silverwastes is one of the big gold farms in game as well. Again, use the wiki for info about these places.

You’re honestly better off just reading through all the release notes over the past two years because we have seen a lot of changes.

Well gear in new itens change. Some news are:
Ferocity was the new iten had to armour.
New 2 story mode. Wardrobe system . New Skill Point and traits, build system.
For 4 months you can do many things. Complete personal story mode, dont need to do wvw to 100% map complete. Outfits many are available to all professions. Revenant was add as new. Specializations are new. HOT is comming as a expansion.
Find new maps like Drytop and Silverwaste. About gear many still the same.

I would say buy the Season 2 on the gem store and let it guide you to the new maps. Will keep you busy for a while.

Gear is still static at max lvl, but Ascended quality has a small stat increase over exotic. PvP gear was removed, now you choose stats, runes, and sigils from the ‘PvP Build’ interface in PvP.
Wardrobe system: Skins, dyes, outfits, and minipets are unlocked account-wide now.
Specializations: Like traits, but you are restricted to three lines at any time, and can change them freely at any time. … Really there is too much to explain in a forum post. If you are on NA servers (world is irrelevant now, you just have to be in the same region as everyone else for everything except WvW) then add me to your friend list and I will be glad to help you rediscover gw2!

Been playing all afternoon, Been doing story mode and just hit the lv80 quest.

Skills sorted and all gifts and stuff ive been sent over the past 3 years! lol

Looked into Season 2 and seems a must.

When did the game get so cash shop heavy! -_-
