Hello,

I have recently returned to the game, finally completed HoT. Currently playing Living World season 3. My question is, I mainly play warrior. My question is, is there any point in my gearing up and spec’ing my warrior to align with the current meta for raising etc. By the time I have finished season 3 and been on holdiay PoF will nearly be out. New gear, new elite spec, hopefully new raids etc.

Cheers

Berserker is a condition elite specialization. You can gear towards it and there is point to that.
(Power Berserker exists and it’s performance is maybe worse than power core warrior)
PoF introduces Spellbreaker which is a power focused elite, so you can prepare by focusing on it, or go the Berserker route.

The “new gear” thing, it’s not like the new gear will have more stats.
New gear might have different combinations of stats.

Thanks for for the response. Sorry, yeah I meant different combination of stats. Thanks, didn’t realise it was a power focused elite. I just don’t want to start crafting a full set of ascended of vipers gear for it to soon become obsolete so to speak!

I honestly doubt there is point gearing up now, just when PoF is coming next month. We have no idea how new alites or new stats will change the game.

Depends on what you’re planning to do until PoF will be out and what gear you already have. There’s no need to gear up for story of course, but if you really want to get into raiding before the launch of the new addon then yes, it would be best to already craft ascended gear and spec Berserker. (Note that you can always change the stats on your ascended armor later on but it can be pricy as you’ll need the exotic insignias with the stats you want + new runes) If however, as you say, there won’t be hardly any time left after you finished the story and went on vacation then maybe it would be better to just sit out a couple of days, play some parts of the game that don’t require ascended gear and just prepare for the launch of PoF (e.g. you can already set aside some ascended trinkets, collect missing mats for ascended crafting, complete missing hero challenges etc.). Depending on how many hero points we’ll need to spec the new elite it might even be possible to spec Berserker AND spec Spellbreaker right away from the left-over hero points, but we’ll find out more about that starting this evening once the demo has begun.

P.S.: If you haven’t already done this already, start crafting time gated materials like Lump of Mithrillium NOW. ^^

I still don’t get it, unless you are a hardcore frac/raider, any stats you enjoy works.
