Returning to Guild Wars 2
No…? I don’t see the benefit in starting a new character, you still have a ways to go to finish learning that class anyway, so you might as well level him. Otherwise, starting a new character/class is completely up to you.
There’s nothing inherent in any changes made that would make creating a new character more profitable in some way than just keeping on with your Warrior. Enjoy yourself, yo.
Alright sounds good. I just didn’t know if there were any significant changes to gear, crafting, or story quests that would make my current character lagged behind.
No I wouldn’t start a new character unless you want some alts, warriors are pretty good in WvW, I would continue levelling him.
You can pretty much change everything about your warrior now except personal story and perhaps some other minor things that really don’t matter much anyway.
Go to WvW btw and have a look at the vendors, at your level the karma one, then you know what equipment to aim for, get all rares fist of all from karma vendor then earn badges of honour for all your exotics…
Warriors are getting some nice buffs in the upcoming patch as well…so good timing…
You could perhaps level him to 80th level in WvW but you may die a lot, because your underpowered…also you could fast level him via crafting…+20 levels from cooking/artificer will cost 4-8 gold…just google the guides…will take a few hours to do…a crafting booster + doing it just before the WvW reset will get more levels/cost less…

Yeah I played pretty hardcore during the couple weeks during release and I understand most things already, of course I spent most of my time exploring so I didn’t get very high.
It sounds to me like the knowledge I left with is pretty much the knowledge I still need. So thanks for the responses
I first started playing during the early access for pre-orders, and played for a few weeks. I managed to get a level 56 warrior but realized that my computer was completely unable to do world vs world.
I just got my new PC up and running and want to return to the game, however, I’m sure a lot has changed. Probably so much so that I should probably just start a new character.. right?
Not for a level 56. If you were 80 I would say go for it, but for a level 56 nothing has changed that you had gotten to and really messed with a lot anyway
I’d start a new character. If you haven’t played for that long, it’ll probably be better to get the basics, and see what you missed, as well as relearning stuff that might have changed in the game.
Starting in the middle after so long would be tough…for me anyway.
Everyone is different of course.
Then again, I LIKE the leveling experience in this game.
There is always the option to do both. =) Start a new character, brush up on some forgotten aspects of the game, AND continue leveling your Warrior! Win – Win.
I’d recommend continuing your current character, nothing has changed that much to warrant a new character for that purpose, I’d only create a new character if you fancy playing a different class.
