I don’t know why you guys haven’t done this yet for the in game store, you guys would make a killing.

Just revamp old GW1 skins

You could have them come out in packs:

Asuran
Norn
Undead
Mursaat
Charr
Tengu
Tormented
Opressor’s

or even bring back some of the more popular ones….i would pay 10 bucks for chaos axe skins….and would prob buy 2 for my ranger and 2 for my warrior

i could see the problem being, that people would prefer the GW1 skins over any skin in GW2 though…just for nostalgia purposes

this also lets people who never played GW1 and that are playing GW2, a chance to wield those cool weapons

I shudder to think what the addition of the Greater Arced Blade would do to people’s behavior in game.

If you did some research you would notice that there are WEAPONS IN GW2 that you can get from the MYSTIC TOILET that resemble GW1 WEAPONS and these weapons require materials that are fairly expensive.

So putting weapon SKINS that resemble GW1 weapons in GW2, obtainable with gems, would be a CHEAP SHOT

I used to use SHIFT but from now on I use CAPS for CAPITALS

If you spent any time in pre in the past few years before launch, you probably saw me standing around there all day, so you know what I mean.

Note to ArenaNET accounting team: I will pay plenty of gems to have them in GW2. Significantly more if I get it only for myself LOL

yeah but im talking about the MOST popular skins….the Chaos Axe, the Storm Bow, Chrysocola Staff

the stuff people spent time farming because they looked so cool

then you have all the old Asuran, Undead, Charr, Norn, and Tengu sets of weapons….then you have Mursaat, Tormented, Opressor, and Destroyer….they did actually keep Destroyer Weapons….so who knows they might do a bundle type thing for the gem store

i’d have to say i would most look forward to Tengu weapons, i think every single one looks kitten

i’d say this would be a legit way to make money on the in game store….a way for old gw1 players to get some of their nostalgic items….i would happily pay for them

I think they will add some of them in the future, but probably those items will be obtainable with a really bad RNG mechanic.
Nevertheless I still hope they will be rewarded simply for playing the game…

if Anet wants to make it rain real money they should just throw in popular gw1 skins , put them in the gemstore or something, cashcow deluxe inc. same for armor, throw obsidian armor skins in the gemstore (instead of krytan/profane/primeval, which to be frank are nasty looking compared to other skins from gw1 they could’ve chosen)

just for the sake of diversity in the community might as well add all elite armor to the store. resulting in massive cashrain and thusly money for hardware improval/expansions/proper updates/more staff

I WANT my Voltaic Spear!

There already is a voltaic spear skin, although it doesn’t have the same visual effect, its for water combat, and the name is Al’ir’aska.

Stuff like Zodiac or Oni or any of those things wouldn’t make sense to have in the Gem store or game at the moment considering they are tied to Cantha, and we cannot access that yet. ( if ever )

Stuff like the storm bow and chaos axe would be great but instead of them being in Gem store I would rather wait to see if they release some content to get into any new form of Fissure of Woe or Underworld, because while paying for those is fine. It wouldn’t bring much to the game besides just added skins without some kind of lore behind it.

Besides. We should know by now if they DID do it it would be in Black Lion Chests with a low % drop chance to obtain them.

The Chrysacola Staff is in the game. It’s the pre-cursor to the legendary staff and also it is another staff called Imryldyeen

Also, the Crystalline Blade is in the game by the same name and also it is the pre-cursor. There are a ton of old skins in the game actually. I won’t list them, but I was SUPER STOKED when I saw that they were here. The OP’s idea is great though. My guildies and I always talk about how we would love to see Chaos Gauntlets make theirway back in the game via gem shop or just new skins, and ALL the old school armors should be in the gem shop. I love those skins they have in there right now and would love to get so many of the old sets.

Side Note: Fix the armors for the Charr please ArenaNet. Tail clipping is terrible. Especially when all of the Charr NPC’s in LA don’t have that issue. All their armor has a tail slot. It’s my opinion that Charr players should be treated better than NPC’s. Great job on the armors and weapons currently in the game though. Top notch art department.

i could not think of a single person who would say this is a bad idea….

the problem with earning them in game is, a lot of people spent time in guild wars 1 earning these items….i remember just saving up enough plat to buy a chaos axe in guild wars 1 took me well over 2 weeks….so i’m not sure people would want to re-obtain them that way….

thus the gem shop is the way to go….just don’t do the terrible RNG Black Lion Chest event

I loved the runic blade from GW1.. so sad that its so expensive in gw2, and ugly with those glowy runes and also a pink dragon spire staff please

yeah they did good with some of the skins being transferred over…but they dropped the ball on some of them, there are plenty of other nostalgic skins they could put on the gem store

weapon skins from gw1 would be cool — I remember farming a ton in Cantha for a skull shield with the stats I wanted .. I never got it.

somewhat on topic: I’d pay anything for faces and hairstyles from GW1. Anything.
