Reverse Magic Find?
Anecdotal evidence on forums suggests this could happen to some people. Have not experienced it myself. Could be a streak of really bad luck that just happened to break when you changed armour. There is really no way to tell officially one way or the other since the claim is that things are working correctly.
ok this is gonna sound odd for some of you but is it possible to get a reverse effect with magic find? I just spent a hour in orr with full MF gear and got nothing, not a single blue or green item of any kind, almost nothing in bags (made a killing in gray tho) and when I finally gave up and put my regular armor on suddenly had armor and weapons dropping like always bags started appearing more often.
Has anyone else had this issue or am I just reading way to much into it.
MF is just short for “Go ahead and put a bonus RNG value on our RNG so you get more RNG!”.
If you think about it, 150% more random isnt exactly better than just plain random…
Also if you start farming with your regular gear and drops seem bad…switch to mf and see what happens. For me its the switch to anything that turns yellow essences to yellow gear, and porous bones to bags. Or its rng…
The truth….no wait, the question is out there!
Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal evidence. We can conclude nothing from your data set.
Go and do what you did there 1000+ more times.
i ll break MF down for all of you what MF does is it increases loot Drop Rate everyone thinks its broken because they think MF boosts Drop Quality, but heres how its beneficial the more loot dropped the higher your chances at getting rare stuff is.
from my experience more MF result in much more white vendor trash and tiny bit more rare crafting materials.
I have not seen ANY correlation between magic find and rare/exotic items drops.

i ve gotten 2 exotics so far with MF but still the rate must be ridiculously low if it took me half a year to get them i dont even wanna think of my chances without mf.

I don’t have any MF gear and I’m an extremely casual player. Since head start I think I found 3 or 4 exotic drops. So I don’t really think MF gear has helped you there, or I’m just really, really lucky.
When you push ‘H’ and look at your attributes….
how much MF does it say you have?

Yo dawg, I heard you like RNG…
You kill slower with MF gear = Less drops = Less chance @ items.
You put on regular gear = start owning stuff = tons of random drops = more chances at a rare.
Sad day when people would rather kill 1 dragon, for 1 chance at a rare rather than realize killing tons of things give you a better shot at a good drop.
I’ve noticed streaks of dead space in gear with and without magic find, and I can’t figure out why this consistently happens.
Go out to farm, have an initial burst of good will drops, then nothing for about 10 minutes, then back to occasional drops, then greys and nothing until you leave.
Drop rates just need to be raised across the board, because RNG certainly isn’t working right.

I honestly think magic find is a placebo.
All my chars are allergic to it, even as food
