Just wondering, has anyone at Arena considered moving players to alternate servers, to help consolidate them in lower level zones? Rather than just moving players out of crowded servers, use the same technology to help keep the pre-cap zones active?

Only if there’s an opt-out option. I like areas nice and quiet.

Like what WoW is doing now? Meh, I’m not crazy about the idea and I kind of don’t like it in that game either, but if lower level zones need more activity it’s worth considering.

That’s a good idea. Aion has this fast track server you can switch to or you can stay on your own server. It’s just a regular in-game menu option, seamless transition. If ANet had something like that to toggle between Overflow and your Home Server it could be good for both the low level zones as well as those QQing they can’t play with friends on other servers anymore due to the much needed WvW transfer fix. If they can just meet their friends in Overflow it’d solve some problems there as well.

I was thinking about this the other day. I think it would work beautifully and should be something they consider. I would love more active lower level zones. Even at 80, my favorite events are found in places like Fireheart Rise, Mt Maelstrom and Gendarran Fields.

Maybe it would help if people weren’t automatically ported to cities like Lions Arch when finishing some Halloween stuff :p.

Yep I agree that this would be a good idea as well. I don’t think it is immediately needed now, but I think it will definitely be needed in the future…especially when expansions are released.

Also, I have to ask, did you read about this on the MMORPG.com forums? We were discussing this exact same thing over there just now lol.

I really like this idea and hope something like this gets implemented. There are some zones that I feel like I’m playing the game by myself.
