Theres no reason anymore to play with an alt im still struggling with the soul-bound system and i also leveled Alts so i could get more tokens and now its just impossible to do that anymore.
i ran HOTW and got 60 tokens did it again in an ALT and got only 20 what the… ANet?
you are just crippling players with ALTs. whats the point anymore to have an alt?

It’s kind of funny, they charge real money for character slots and do their very best to pretty much give you no reason to make any more characters. I thought it was getting bad when I stopped playing but holy shtako they went full blown this time.

lets not talk about Cash shop items being soul-bounded.

Ohhh I don’t know..having another class to play when you get bored with your main? Experimenting with different playstyles? Running certain classes in dungeons because you can make the run go smoother with a certain one?

Enjoying different class and build options, as well as developing new characters.
your problem isn’t that alts are useless, it’s just that they’re less useful as a tool to farm specific things repeatedly.
which, btw, isn’t what they’re meant for anyway.

if i worked hard to lvl up an alt why im not allowed to profit from it?
This was how tokens were awhile ago and they eventually changed it to tokens being character bound. Hopefully, they’ll change it back. I enjoy running dungeons on multiple characters, and right now, it’s just not really worth it, even if I love the dungeon. The gold and token rewards are only for the first play through, so why run it a second time?

You are still allowed to run dungeons on multiple characters.
You could do a CoE P1 on one character, then a CoE P2 on another, then CoE P3 on another.
You can also pick and choose any of your characters to run a CoF P1, then choose another to run CoF P1 the next day.
The gold and token rewards are only for the first play through, so why run it a second time?
This is exactly the reason ANet choose to do this. People were running CoF P1 constantly for hours on end. It seems to be ANet’s opinion that people shouldn’t be devoting hours to running this one instance hundreds of times.

In all honesty, there are other more acceptable ways of catering to the issue of dungeon farmers. Crippling the utilization of dungeon rewards with alternate characters just seems unfair to the player. The time spent in the progression of that alternate character should rightfully amount to something more than a measly 20 dungeon tokens in this case… It just doesn’t seem right to me.

The gold reward was crippling to farmers, the token reward is crippling to people who want to run dungeons for the tokens. A hardcore dungeon farmer didn’t switch to alts for their second, third, seventieth paths, they stayed on one character because the tokens were of minimal importance to people.
Also, just to clarify, the change to the gold reward doesn’t bother me much, if at all. I’m not complaining about that.

I can sympathize, I’m not particularly thrilled at the change for tokens. I was merely attempting to point out what I believe is ANet’s stance. I think they made a very clear stand on what they think of running a dungeon path more than once per day, regardless of how many characters we’ve made.
On a side note, this won’t dissuade me from leveling up the rest of my characters to 80. I play my characters because of who they are intrinsically, not what I can reap from them as far as tokens/gold/etc.
Personally, I think if you love playing a mesmer as an alt, the token reduction shouldn’t dampen your enjoyment of playing a mesmer. Or a necro, or any of your other alts.

Because this is a game, not a paid job.
