Guild Wars 2

I am happy we are finally getting GW2 physical merchandise! Even though the selection is very small thus far.

When I first saw Rubi in the Quaggan holiday sweatshirt I hopped onto iam8bit to order my own, along with a tshirt. They took so long to ship I had actually forgotten making the order until the email came that they were shipping, and then it took a while to get them (I may have gone for free shipping, details are hazy to me now since I’ve recently ordered garments from several sources). All told maybe a month from placing the order? They arrived yesterday.

I ordered XL as I like loose fitting long clothes, though I have a small upper frame, a skinny size 12 (woman). The sweatshirt and tshirt are bang in the middle of the typical XL range (comparison: the GW1 charr tshirt is very snug, tshirts from The Mountain on Amazon are thigh-length mini dresses). They both fit quite comfortably, though there is a stiff seam inside the sweatshirt cuff that could chafe.

Quality is good. The tshirt is in a softer cotton; I got the Mesmer shirt and I do wish the design were higher up. It’s a good thing I don’t tuck in my tshirts, the design is centered over my sternum and belly. The sweatshirt has a soft inside and a very tight weave smooth outside, which means my long hair isn’t going to static out on it like on fleece. There are no neck tags, just printed information inside the neck. There is also no laundering information that I can find. Thus I am concerned about the sweatshirt as the design is done in a thick white “paint” applied to the fabric and I have concerns about it flaking off. Any of you ANet folks who’ve been using yours for a while now and washed it, advice would be handy!

I consider both items worth the price I spent for them. I’m more iffy about what they just announced, the HoT soundtrack for $40, as it’s on vinyl (though it does come with a digital download). I haven’t had a needle-in-groove record player in decades and I prefer my digital music on CD’s. I ordered my guardian t-shirt last Wednesday (12/16/15), it shipped by the end of the same day (I had ordered mid-morning), and it arrived today (Monday, 12/21/15). I’m sure it helped that I’m in the same state that the merchandise shipped from.

I agree with Donari regarding the quality. The soft material feels nice, not stiff and itchy like other t-shirts I’ve had. It’s also lightweight, so it won’t be uncomfortable to wear in the heat.

As far as the placement of the design, perhaps there’s a difference between the fitted vs. unisex shirts. My guardian design is high enough not to be an issue at all. I’m quite pleased, and I will likely get some of the other shirts, too.
