What is the point in having to ‘Buy’ a revive orb if when you use it, it takes just as long to revive you as a normal player and you get hardly any HP. If you buy the item I wouldve thought you would get extra HP or something.

Tell that to the people using revive orbs in high level fractals. I doubt they find them useless.

would you rather they be the most usefull thing ever and make it so you feel like you MUST have it.

when your trying to avoude Pay to win, i dont think thats the way to do it

Yes, it should at least apply 30 secs of invulnerability and >20 stacks of might, so you can feel justified throwing heaps of money at the cash shop.

to clarify: it is obviously meant to be used when no one is around to res you, and not as a substitute for “^ + /god”

rez orbs are fine

you shouldn’t they aren’t ment to be used allot, i had a few from gems and the times i use them is when i’m unable to be rezzed either in solo play or group play, and the waypoint is to far.

it’s important such an item isnt considered “Pay 2 Win” as such, it has to have a drawback.

that said as others have pointed out, these are really useful items for very high level fractals.

I wouldn’t say they are crap exactly. They are far more useful from an exploring/traveling point of view than a combat one though. They get you back up when the waypoint is a long walk back, or when you die 10 feet away from unlocking that next waypoint.

fall of the side of rata sum with a few buddies….hit the water and die….use res orb and explore.

That is my illegitimate usage but I can see tons of usage out of it regardless.

My friend and I found this awesome portal thing down in Mount Maelstrom. Upon entering we had to gather 4 things of different “elements” so to speak, and use them to open a chest. After gathering 3 artifacts we were suddenly slaugthered by an unfriendly veteran rock elemental. All hope was lost. We couldn’t resurrect anywhere, there were no waypoints on the map we had been teleported to, and couldn’t find a way to ress outside.

That was when I remembered that thing called “Revive Orb” I had previously gotten in a chest. I used it, but my friend was dead next to this rock elemental that had earlier almost one shot me. I preceeded to call upon our friends the neutral veteran treefolkthingys, and pulled it to the rock elemental.. they fought out an epic battle while i ressed my friend.

That’s my story about revive orbs.

Like everything in the gem store that isn’t purely cosmetic they’re meant to be useful when used at the right time but not give any major advantage. Otherwise this game would be coming far too close to P2W.

Personally I wouldn’t buy them, but that’s because I can’t really justify spending money on something like that when I don’t have much spare to begin with.

Not to be the one to point out the obvious here but…if you feel they are pointless/useless then maybe don’t buy them?

Havent tried it but do they work in wvw, i can think of a few places being able to rez on the spot after the zerg has run over you would be handy must graba few i collected from back when the daily chest actually dropped things.

That’s exactly what I was thinking of every time someone mentioned certain situations where they come in very useful. I swear 2/3 of the time I spent on that was waiting to be rezzed or running back from the waypoint.
