Reward system is tiring me...
I never thought that I’d feel like there was too much loot. Specially after Fallout and Diablo.
Well, GW2 proved me wrong.
In Diablo III at least you have a Town Portal and a salvage all.
Here you hae to go clickity-click with everything.
“Hey, maybe I’ll click the bag icon with the salvage pointer and try to salvage everything in the bag…”
Nope! Click all the things!
From what I can tell, (and IMO, of course) the driving force behind EVERY SINGLE THING in this game (lately) is gems. How do you buy extra bag slots to contain the insane amount of crap this game now throws at you? Gems. Bank space? Gems. Gems gems gems.
“Maybe if we give them more crap, they’ll spend money on gems for bag space!”
“Word. Let’s do it.”

It’s designed to fill up your bags with trash so that you shell out for bag slots.
More bag slots don’t help. All it does is reduce the amount of times you go to a npc to sell junk. Actually going to the npc is literally a click of a WP. More bags = more time standing there salvaging and selling junk. That’s the time consuming part.
Honestly I’m tired of it. I started throwing out those green bags with 3 pieces of crappy gear in them plus a small chance for a rare. I just threw out 40 of those bags the other day. It’s also annoying to get a bag inside a bag inside a bag. I mean seriously that is rediculious.
Instead of these exotic bags that have bags inside of bags, I would much prefer those exotic bags have like a 5-10% increase in dropping something good. This wouldn’t fix everything but it would help. What do you guys think?
I like gw2.
However I’m getting fedup with the constant physical rewards that I have to accept and keep filling up my bag. The constant rewarding and accepting loot or whatever has become burdensome, and I keep having to sell the items once my bags are completely full.
Is there a way to ‘not accept’ some rewards or loot…. I don’t like being forced to have to engage in the trade or buy and sell system.
Yes, the loot system in this game has become horrible, worst i’ve ever seen. it’s mind numbing boring not to mention, it’s killing my fingers, never mind the mouse. 1 hour in SW and spend as much sorting out all the junk, while having to listen to annoying repetitive NPCs spiel one idiotic sentence over and over every 2 seconds. Seriously, what happened to gw2? I sometimes feel it’s been infiltrated by ppl who want to destroy this game and any fun it used to offer.
I can’t stand the bag, in bag in a bag, crap. It’s extremely disingenuous to give u an exotic bag that contains all blues and greens. It may fool u the first time, maybe even 2nd time, but soon u realise ur being cheated. Even worse ur character commenting on getting something special when in fact it’s all junk inside. Like the broken ornaments, oh man, who’s idea was this to put them into a rare boxes? kittened really kittened.
Srry, i’m getting fed up with gw2 and i think my recent posting is reflecting that. I love(d) this game, but lately, particularly since HoT launched, i’m seriously considering other games to call home.
Click Wars 2. I don’t know why anyone thinks constant clicking is fun in a game. Or having a million different junks. Or those bags in a bag in a baginception.
Yeah, GW2 is so bad to allow you to deposit many things directly from your inventory directly to your bank without going anywhere and providing tons of merchants just about everywhere in the world. And if you are in one of the few places that has no merchant around, you go to a WvW borderland walk 5 feet to one, sell, exit back to exactly where you were.

Or the PvP lobby. Or use one of the merchants you’ve stacked up from daily log in rewards.
Every map has a merchant when you enter in HoT. Go to the merchant, and sell. Because if you leave the map, you lose your progress in that map events.

actually if you return to the same map you don’t. And if you are in a party that is in the map, you will get back in the same one, unless it’s full.

Part of the reason for all the loot is that GW2 allows every player who hits a target to have a chance to get loot from that target. In other games, the person who engages is often the only one to get loot. Sooo, what happens? Players run by other players without helping because they know they won’t get loot. I’ve had it happen many times in other games.
GW2 encourages players to jump in to help other players because they know they won’t be denied their loot from the encounter. The flip side of that coin, is that because of the increase of loot drops, there’s more ‘junk’ drops.
Me? I’d rather feel encouraged to play with my fellow GW2 players, and there’s a noticeable difference in players helping each other in general on the maps, in comparison to other games of this type that I’ve played. So I’m just fine with the current system.
You only live once. But once is enough, if you do it right! …. Mae West
The Biggest problem with gw2 is there is no rewards and its all about looking well good to the corp Standard . theres nothing here but to grind and to get gems. There are a few thing’s on gem store that will make you get close to even and that’s it. Pick and one other
Oh and to get GEMS only 1 way to get them and that is REAL MONEY . So ya you are kittened .

What exactly are you trying to say?

The inventory management can be a bit taxing at times. I just make an appoint to save all of my boxes and bags until I have a free moment, then do the sell/salvage thing. Having a full set of 20-slot boxes helps, too.

Lol no.
Thank you get it all or you dont . Game as intended .
The more crap they pump into your bags, the more annoyed you get and the increased chances of buying bags slots.

This is sad and pathetic. People actually complain about getting TOO MUCH loot?!?!
The game that had been the number 1 MMO for years only gave you 5 bag slots, the same number you started off with. The max size was 20 as well, except for specialty bags, which in some ways were worse because you could only put certain items in them. say if Craftsman bags were in that game, only crafting items would be allowed in it, not just crafting items before anything else.
That game also didn’t allow you to deposit much of your crafting materials from your inventory to your bank and the bank didn’t have a collectibles tab.
If you don’t want to pay for bag slots, don’t. Yes, you will have to sell more often than someone with more than 5 bags, that’s simple arithmetic. But inventory management is much, much better in this game then most others.

yeah i agree the constant barrage of rancid garbage is very annoying.
So I guess I’m crazy cause I don’t see how more bag slots helps. All it does is help me procrastinate my inventory sorting. Clicking on a WP to a vender takes like a second. If I do that once per two hours or once per five hours it really doesn’t add more time. If I go once per two hours I have less to sort out. Once per five hours I have more than twice as much to sort out. The actual sorting out is what takes forever not traveling to the vendor. Or maybe that’s just me?
You’ll still have the same problem even with all the bag slots accessible and 20 slot bags in each. I’ve bought 1-2 extra bank slots and my bank is still completely stuffed full all the time. They need to bump storage to 500 of an item, and stop spamming dust and shards…if you can’t craft these things into their ascended mats and don’t have unlimited bank space then you are pretty screwed.
The Tiny Yuno Sniper of Ebay [EBAY]
I have a copper fed salvage kit and full bag slots so this usually isn’t a problem.
However, I would like to share my disdain of “trash trash”, referring to things that can’t be salvaged or vendored. An example of this would be something like snowflakes, regular siege blueprints, blade shards, or aetherblade keys which can’t be vendored and it’s a waste of time to TP them. T7 ascended mats are a noted offender because depositing just doesn’t help against too much of them. Personally, I really hate writs of experience, because they are utterly useless when opened on a level 80 character.
There’s also examples like deleting Orphan Laine’s letter where you have to type out the entire friggin name, but at least that’s rare.
And yes you could use a guild hall, or pvp, or wvw to empty out your bags. But there’s a few cases where you can’t easily, namely if you’re in a full map where you may not be able to get in, or World vs World where you will have to run a long way back if you try to vendor stuff. Not that World vs World actually has any loot to speak of, but alas.
And now for a shot of my inventory when it’s “empty”. Granted I could carry less things, but meh.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Yeah, that’s why I stopped coming here . . .
Oh, and the stuff Mawdrey spits up is terrible too.

“….A BAG INSIDE A BAG INSIDE A BAG…”
lol, that bit had me laughing…
You know I just spent about 45 minutes clearing my bags on the trade screen. OMG this is driving me insane. Is there noway to stop it?
Also, is it possible to get rid of some bag slots, or no? I guess if I do that I’ll have to empty them more often.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestion-New-Mastery-Ideas/first#post5797209
In this thread, I made suggestions to help manage this. Yeah, it’s masteries, and it’s grindy, but I think it would really really really help those who care enough to earn them. Check Convenience and Crafting section for the auto-salvage ability and auto-deposit ability. Would really solve most of the cumbersomeness in the game currently.
I guess you could drag most of your bags into your starter pack and then just ignore whatever loot drops. Or you could just ignore it to begin with if you don’t have the loot vacuum mastery.
