If I had known that my ribbons would be an ongoing fashion “faux pas” I would have chosen a different hair style or a more neutral ribbon colour. I mean, green? It looked fine at character creation but I had no idea that the colour I chose would be permanent.

Does anyone know (pokes ArenaNet staff) if there are plans to provide the option to change the accessory colour after creation of the character? I just love the dyes, I love dressing up but my ribbons break my heart! My options are so limited if I want to look good!

Not a serious issue, obviously, but it would be a delight to get rid of that awful green! lol

Well, there is always the Makeover kits. =)

Or, if it’s a relatively new character…reroll.

Just open up the gem store and your wallet and enjoy!

Makeover kits will allow you to change your hair style and/or ribbon color.

If you just want to change your hair then buy a self-style hair kit, they are cheaper.

It would be nice to recolor them afterwards, especially if I’m thinking about the dyes I’ve unlocked.

Hairstyle kits, 250 gems, so cheaper, can also change the accessory color. As Zudet also mentioned lol

You don’t know me.

It is something that should be addressed imo. The limited options we have/had for hair accessories really put a damper on QoL aesthetics.

edit… Remember Makeover Kits will only let you change it to the original choices of colors, which if you remember was limited to base colors.

You also get a Total Makeover Kit for 5000 achievement points. Depending on your situation, this might be an option as well.

Thank you all for your advice. I bought a kit and I now have a lovely hair style without the green ribbons!

I do think it should be possible within the game, especially with the new dyes you unlock, I agree, but I am a very happy, green free, bunny)

It would be nice if you could use the dyes you’ve unlocked to color the accessories. The limited number of choices on them make it difficult to do much.

Where are my gem sales? I want gem sales! Nerf EVERYTHING!

Maybe it has to do with the way the game is coded. It seems to be part of the hair and not part of armor or clothing, which makes it so restricted. However, I wish ANet would make it allowable to use colors we discovered at the very least and without using a makeover kit.

At the very very least, an extremely cheap makeover kit which does hair accessories only. Truthfully, it wouldn’t kill them to let us have free accessory redye kits since, imo, this is a fail on their part.

I’m pretty sure you get a free kit from an AP chest out there somewhere. I have had 2 so far and never bought one. I know one of them came from a BLTC chest tho however.

Edit – Doh, Ignavia.7420 beat me.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

This needs to be fixed. Just make them dye-able period.
Hairstyles are limited for me for this very reason :/

If they did we would then have people demanding things like streaks etc, probably work anet would rather not do right now. But I agree, more options would be nice.

As an adult, I question the use of ribbons entirely. Whilst they’re there, however, the ease and extent of recolouring options is depressing.

Adults do use ribbons. You can question them because you dislike them, but the adult argument does not really work.

I would also question the thinking behind your statement, specifically the part where you declared I dislike said hair item.

To stick to the point and not indulge in logical fallacies, my asura, who uses ribbons, would like the ability to change the colours alongside armour recolours instead of purchasing a hair kit through the gem store.

I meant that that would be a better argument, not that you dislike said hair per se. Written communication FTW.
