Hello,

Considering emotes have a HUGE range, wouldn’t it make sense to have a right-click menu available to block or report spammers? It’s really annoying to have to locate someone with a load of special characters in their name just to prevent from seeing their spam messages.

Also, how come emotes don’t have spam protection? I know RPers use it a lot for communication, but they tend to have decent time gaps between messages. I wouldn’t see harm in, say, 3 messages per minute.

Egad, don’t throttle RP even more. It’s actually possible to get suppressed if you have a character with a consistent verbal habit. My taciturn warrior got suppressed for answering “Mmm” a few times, as did my charr with her “Rrr.” Sometimes you will use a short repeated emote such as laughing. Plus faster typists doing shorter lines in exchange can easily exceed three lines in a minute without it being spam, e.g. a rapid-patter bantering or pun-fight.

Yes, we do need a drop down on emotes, and the ability to block a specific player’s emotes, and (my perpetual crusade), more visible emote text. We don’t need them slower, though! An RP exchange can take long enough to depict short-term action without an artificial throttle on line delivery.

I couldn’t agree more.

We need a new chat channel for ROLE PLAYING (I dunno… cyan-colored text? Whatever). It would be the same thing as the SAY channel as far as range is concerned. But any emotes posted on the RP Channel would only appear to people monitoring the RP Channel. They would NOT be visible to people monitoring the normal EMOTES “Chat”.

Being on the RP channel could ALSO be your “tag” to let the MegaServer know you are roleplaying, and want to be grouped with like-minded individuals.

Problem solved.

Yeah, it’s silly that I can’t right-click on an emote generator’s name. Many people use this to get around being reported and/or blocked.
