Please Anet, make those actual skins that can be applied to ascended gear!

You farm PvP to get them, and then need to stick to the exotic skin (and need to farm for more if you want them for your other characters as well, which you then decide you don’t, because they are not of ascended quality and you happen to already have equipped all your chars with ascended water breathers).

So much this.

Wholeheartedly support this. Wanted to go for the item then found out the special effect is bound to the item not the skin…

I worked realy hard to get these but now i’m surprised that they don’t work like every other skin in the game, and now i’m stuck with these taking up an inventory slot until they patch it in.

Agreed. I really like the effect on it. But I have an ascended mask, so there’s no point in it. I don’t know why they didn’t make it a separate skin.

Oh? I didn’t even realise they had a unique visual effect.

I just deleted one in my inventory yesterday because it was wasting space…

I’d take the stat dip for the effect, personally. underwater content is for the most part easy.

It may have been part of the evolution of their tech at the time. The rime-rimmed breathers were released approximately with the queen bee effect. One was attached to exotic breathers (which is a higher stat breather than most people bother getting even now, I think), and the other was attached to an upgrade.

I guess they were trying to see what they could do outside of just skins.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease make it a skin. It’s the only item in the entire game that does this and my character is all about ice.
