In fact it’s very hard to find good exotic rings and back pieces other than crafting.

Your exotics that you spent farming up aren’t getting replaced until maybe a year down the road. But by that point we will have craftable legendary armors so it won’t make much of a difference on a “gear grind”.

I don’t know about you, but how much do you trust someone who has broken a promise. I’ve seen it far too often to not give a kitten about this move.

Legendary quality already exists.

And no one said exotic was going to be end all be all.

And if you check the wiki, crafting legendary armors have been datamined, so legendary armor is already on the horizon.

I personally dislike the idea of specific gear for specific dungeon very much. This means I need to keep gears for specific dungeon or areas. Not to mention time to grind those gears.

Storage space is very limited on GW2. Unless Anet come out and say you going to give each player 10 new slots with every new dungeon or area that required special equipment this is going to suck. I don’t have enough storage space as it is.

Personally I like the idea of something new to aim at, standing round in Cursed Shore waiting for Plinx to appear on that rock so I can try and save up for a legendary is becoming like watching a washing machine on its spin cycle.

Only problem I got with this? There’s no way in Zhaitan’s toilet I’m givin’ up me Flamin’ Book for some other back piece … unless it’s an even cooler flamin’ book.

Unless of course you reskined your legendary unto some other stat type exotics. You’ll probably not get the new upgraded stats at that point and have to grind some ascended weapon to be on par with all the players that kept their legendary in pristine condition and suddenly got a free stat boost out of nowhere and enjoy a statistical advantage in WvWvW until everyone else grinds their own ascended weapon.

It’s a possible sign that they’re changing direction, which is what people are crying about.
