I’ll like to leave my impression on the last 2 weeks update on Risen Champions and Veterens.

THEY DO WAY TOO MUCH DAMAGE

This weekend while trying to defend de outpost at Straits of Devastation, the one at Blighted Battleground so we could get reinforcements after a fail going to Cathedral of Glorious Victory.

We where around 25-30 players. Then the defend event started. In the following 30 seconds 1 Champion killed 15-20 of the players in a single move. Then ofc we tryed to kill it for the next 10 minutes while people keep dying.

How can a Champion, not a Legendary, do a combo (constantly) that atracks all the players in 1200 range (tested it on field) and place a red area where he stands that 1 hit kills, and while the lag of being knockout it drains any life remaining.

I was able to survive 2-3 of that movements by rapidly teleporting on knockout, but that only allowed me to die a few seconds latter.

The areas of some Risen have been rise up, since all the queen events started. Even some veterans can clean they teeth with your medium armor without having much trouble.

No, isn’t not a rant. It’s a proper complain about how much dmg some Risen veterans and specially Champions do now.

Please Developers, go to Blighted Battleground, defend the area with 30 players (so the event scale up to put champions on every-single-wave) and then tell me if that’s a normal behavior.

If you think i’m complaining, go with your Guild and test that defend event, then you can tell if i’m exaggerating.

We did Melandru yesterday with 2 people, my necromancer tanking – but I generally do run very tanky builds and yes I admit, I used to test compare on Veteran Risen Giant in Cursed Shore, and once unaware they’ve buffed them and some other undead I’ve been smeared on ground pretty bad at first (that fancy charge the abominations have, took me a minute to comprehend, plus they bug out in Personal Story and some events and gain 25 stacks of fury within very few seconds; or that champ Broodmother in Sylvari starter map, you stumble upon her around leve 3, girl, that new clasp and run over poison surely is a fun killer).
But I think it’s fine to keep at least some content a bit more challenge, after all, these are the end maps…
I’ve though noticed after my recent return that they’ve fixed the “morale” events, so it’s much easier now.

IMO, some events now are much easyer with 5 than with a full 30-40, some of the champions do the damage of a legendary monster. Not even the Risen Arch Mage does the dmg that some of the champions we had on Blighted Battleground Defend event.
