Tarnished coast is Full, and i havent seen it open up at all. so my question is any American based RP servers that people go to since tarnished is locked?

To maximize your odds of running into other RP players more often, you’ll want to make sure you’re on the same world (generally TC and Piken are viewed as the RP worlds), and in guilds with other RP members also on that same world. For example, everyone from TC currently will be set to high priority to sort together, same thing goes with people who are all a part of the same guild (so guild up RP folks!)

We’ll continue to monitor, adapt and update the system as we go forward as well, for now I’d suggest seeing how it works once we enable the mega server system across all maps and then giving comments and feedback when you see it in action!

There are no roleplaying servers anymore, as such, thanks to the melting pot megafailservers.

Not that there’s much RP about anyway. 8/10 nights I go to the known open RP spots in DR and they are empty because I’m not in the right shard. RP is pretty much dead for me now.

That;s incorrect. There are still RP servers: TC and Piken. The way that the megaserver works is that it puts you with other like-minded players/guilds. Starting out on either of these servers would most likely guarantee that you would have other RP players to interact with, especially if you are in an RP guild.

OP, the server doesn’t matter much anymore.

It’s more about roleplaying guilds. You’ll have to find a guild to RP with, as all server are combined and you could land on anyone..and often a map is shared between quite a few servers.

In my experience the mega server hasn’t been bad for grouping me up with people I usually play with or my guild.

So join a guild, and add anyone you liked playing with to friends list to increase the chance of landing on the same map/server.

But the OP can guest to TC, which should work the same as being “on” TC, in terms of megaserver queueing. So still doesn’t have try squeezing into to TC as a “home” server.

TC is one of the most active WvW realms, locked in eternal struggle with Jade Quarry and Blackgate. This is why it’s always full.

Guess what servers my accounts are on? Tarnished Coast and Piken Square. And still I see next to no open RP anymore.

I see plenty of open RP in the Black Citadel, parts of DR (I’m not there much, granted), the Grove, and various places in the world.

On the contrary to what some people believe, the Megaservers aren’t really harming Roleplaying as much. In fact if anything (on Piken Square at least) they’ve helped because I’m seeing more and more Roleplaying out in the open world, and that’s nice and refreshing.

I co-run a mostly RP guild on Piken Square, where we do missions at set-times in PvE areas, in areas of any level, and a lot of the time, we’ve walked past other guild RP too (even some RP in other languages – which is good).

If you are playing from NA on an EU server, the chances are, you’ll noticed little to no lag difference at all.

I’ve always said that Piken Square is the friendliest and most welcome server you will find, so if you decide to come to Piken Square, you will be most welcome indeed.

No, the Megazerger does not necessarily put you into the same server as one’s guild, sometimes maybe, but not all the time. I “was” on FA before MS rolled out and I rarely see guildies when they’re listed as in the same zone as I.

More importantly, To the OP, there are lists online of guilds that specialize in RP. I’d suggest you do a search, unless someone has a link. I was set to move to TC before (as in gems) the megaservers came about.

Honestly you’ll find RP by looking for RP guilds, RP servers never work unless it’s enforced. Every game I joined with an RP server without GM support ended up being terrible and full of drama and trolls because sadly that’s where those types of people tend to flock. It’s just like if you go to smaller anime conventions.. half the time the people that show up are gawkers, creeps, idiots, people who dress up just to dress up and make it about them and couldn’t care less about the theme.

Just gota ask around and you’ll find some good RP guilds.
