Rumor or truth ?
Something similar not exactly was said in a interview. I will edit my post when I find the interview.
What’s more is that the team is also working very kitten finding a way to make it so that every profession has access to every weapon and their own weapon skills for those previously locked weapons.
Please note mmorpg is paraphrasing what they interpreted not a direct quote from a interview.
And probably has something to do with this
To go along with this, we’ll expand the content and options to earn skill points to help encourage players to experience different challenges and content throughout the world. These skills and traits will be designed to be balanced with the existing skills/traits we currently have in the game, and will simply compliment and expand the range of abilities and tactics available to each profession.

But does not mean it will come in exactly the way mentioned in the MMORPG article.

Not really. What was said that before new classes would be added to this game, they would have the existing classes to have more functionality in weapons.
i.e. a guardian might be able to use a pistol, a warrior a staff, and elementalist a sword.

had a chuckle at “hard” getting the kitten treatment.
Cool. Thanks for the link and thanks for the replies. I’m really interested in the que system they mentioned for us people that like to solo.
They are going to be adding more weapons to each profession, but I doubt they will add ALL weapons to all professions.
The wording Colin gave in an interview is that they would add more weapons to professions before they would add a profession to the game and that both are not going to happen soon.

Ah Okay. Letting every profession use all weapons would probably be too much like Elder Scrolls Online ( I read that they are going to allow all characters to use all weapons like SkyRim ).
I hope they allow Guardians to use Bows. Now that would be cool.
What’s wrong if they do something like Elder Scrolls Online? Or if they handled conversations with NPCs like SW:TOR? What’s wrong with taking ideas that might be genuinely good and applying them to ourselves? What’s wrong if we have some missions with the some of the intellectual depth of The Secret World? Or if we got to feel as all-powerful in PvE as City of Heroes let its players feel?
Sometimes rivals, enemies, or so forth have good ideas that have merit to be applied and used. I mean one of the earliest opponents to smoking was Adolf Hitler. Does his opposition to smoking suddenly mean we should start passing out packs of Camels to kids?
I liked the fact that GW2 enabled players to experience a wide range of weapons to perform different roles/playstyles, and I think having all weapons available would expand that furthermore.
It would be a brilliant feature to have and I am sure a lot of players will welcome it especially.
Steam: Cydran (or spartondan)

CoH got a bit out of control. Duoed the Lambda trial with a friend :P I do miss when herding meant like 30+ npcs, instead of 5 here.
