For the Treasure Collector acheivement, you need 4 items which you get by using a superior rune of scavenging with a certain skill point. Each rune is about 2.5g on the tp, so about 10g in total. When I got all four collectors items; the Seal of the Oratuss, the Enchanted Glacial Shard, Burning Forest Crest and the Mark of the Tamini, I assumed, because there were 4 of them, that they could be put in the mystic forge for something. But no, the only thing i can do with them is sell them to a vendor for 2s 64c each. Anyone else a little annoyed at this? :<

I’m more annoyed that my spoons don’t shrink down into the spoon collector box. Where did that box go? Did I eat it? Many of the collector achievements feel like a gold/karma sink, and hey bank tabs just happen to be on sale the time we get all of this account bound collector stuff that people will want to board.

I fully understand the annoyance. The collections are so hit or miss. I had a similar annoyance with the Honor of the Waves Collection. I received 2 Exotics that weren’t even level 80. The Dwayna Collection is similarly frustrating. I have both of the bows and now I have to RNG two pieces of jewelry that my characters won’t use(they are exotic and all my characters are in Ascended) or spend hundreds of gold to acquire them and Soulbind them after which, they will be rendered completely useless.

TL;DR Most of these collections are gold sinks plain and simple and feel implemented for the economy of the game and not the players.

If only we could salvage our Karma rewards still… mhm.

Was I annoyed? No, of course not. Why would I be? It says right there on the tooltip “This item only has value as part of a collection.”. I knew what I was getting into.

You can’t salvage them but you can forge them. I did that with the spoons because I was doing that one first and got some items for Treasure Hunter from it. Also got a lv60ish rare from one of the other forges, sold for around 20s.

Nice. I had several of those things, but sold/salvaged throughout playing. If only I had known…..
