Hi, I am here looking for information,

I have two accounts one EU and one NA, I use one for spvp and the other to PVE with friends, Is there a way that I can run both these accounts at once so I can PVE while I wait on matches for Spvp.

Not sure exactly on the rules of this and if its even allowed but thought I would come and ask.

Multi-boxing is allowed, as well as using two computers running the game at the same time. It doesn’t matter which region the accounts are tied to.

You can’t run them from the same place on your computer. You need to have them partitioned, or something like that. I don’t know how to multi-box, I’m sure you could google it.

You may need some third-party program to do it, and I don’t know which ones are used/safe, so I’ll wait for someone more knowledgeable to chime in…

The general rule for multi-boxing is that you must not bot or use macros to control one account while actively playing on the other. As long as one is essentially afk while the other plays, it’s 100% legal.

The official post is here.

On the other hand, if you can control a keyboard and mouse with your left and right feet, and another keyboard and mouse with your hands, I’m reasonably certain nobody would complain about you multiboxing. In fact, I would like to see a video of it, haha.

i know in rift “multiboxing” was perfectly legal.

in case you dont know, multiboxing is 1 guy with like usually 5 or so characters with the same exact set up stacked on top of each other. he uses 1 keyboard to control all 5 of them simultaneously. effectively making him as strong kitten (wow as “5” is blocked) people (but stronger since hes so coordinated)

Im assuming since its also an mmo, that gw2 would have a similar policy. Not that you’d something that exorbitant for what you’re doing.

Is no one going to point out that you can already do that now? You go in PvE open your PvP and can queue for matches. Or instantly join hotjoin games. This is just a little absurd to be considering your spvp downtime of waiting.

The situation you described it most definitely not legal and would be grounds for a ban.

Multiboxing itself is legal, yes. You can have two accounts up and logged in on the same time (although running two accounts on the same client is questionable)

But you cannot be actively playing both at the same time.

I do the PVP and the PVE on different servers, otherwise I would be doing what you are describing.

I agree that the situation above would be wrong. But, I find myself a bit confused when I read the following in the official post: “3.You must be actively playing on each account.” How does one actively play more than one account? I’d guess that “active” may be something other than what I have in mind.

By that, they mean that you have to be putting in user inputs on each account. . You cannot be using some software or macro that allows you to play on one account, while the other account mimics the actions of the first one (that is botting). I don’t think they mean simultaneously playing since that would be quite a stressful multi-tasking action.

That would undoubtedly get you banned from 99% of games. Controlling 5 characters at the same time doing the same things is putting yourself at a greater advantage over normal people. You would be able to take on almost anything alone because you as an individual are in control of 5 characters where as a normal group would be 5 individuals in control of one character each.

The OP just wants to do PVP with one account and during downtime, do PvE with the other account. He as an individual is never controlling more then 1 character at any given time.

Can you quote the part of the TOS that forbids it?

It sounds like it would get you banned, but at least in rift there was even an official response to the thread complaining about people doing it, saying it was not actually against the TOS. Im pretty sure people did it in WOW too, though im not sure if it was legal there. I just know there was someone with like 90 accounts multiboxing them all.

I would try copying the game into a 2nd directory and setting up a 2nd shortcut to the gw2.exe in that directory and give that a try starting a 2nd copy of the game.
