Hello everyone!

I almost finished my 1st legendary weapon and I’m a little bit disgusted. Yes, of course all legendary weapons have a unique skins/animations/best possible stats (like ascended) AND possibility to change weapon stats out of combat. IT IS AWESOME… not completely. What I mean? Namely I’m playing thief, almost all the time on Berserker stats but sometimes (in fractals or trolling ppl on 3w) I change my set/weapons&trinkets to Dire/Carrion stats. And when I create my Dreamer I’ll put into it sigil of force & bloodlust. Yeah, this sigils are good for Berserk but what when i swap my stats into Carrion/Dire? I will be forced to running with sigil of force/bloodlust in condition build???

I have the following proposal:

1. Sigils binded to stats (eg. I’ve chosen Berserker stats on my Dreamer and i have 2 sigil slots in it, then i put into them sigil of air & force. Now i change my stats to Soldier and i put into sigil slots sigil of battle & bloodlust and when I come back to Berserker I’ll get sigil of air & force).

or

2. Unlock sigils by buying it (like traits, but buying from TP or random drop/salvage).

Now I want to hear what are You thinking about it

But what if I like my energy/ strength sigils with every stat (wvw)?
Should I buy 10 of them for the stats I might use?
Changing it to “unlocking Sigils” per legendary could be a whole lot of work. UI/ translation/ storing EVERY sigil in a single Weapon? I guess thats not easy and would need a new/ different way to store weapon information.
Completely unlocking sigils ( like traits per char? ) might ruin the ( sigil related ) economy, at least I have bought 3-4 force/ strength/ energy/ bloodlust/ …. Sigils, not just 1. And I might even buy more in the future.
Maybe there is a better way ( less effort/ more gain).

For example: Reusable Sigils.

What do you think of “Reusable Sigil”s?
Once you slot something else, you get the sigil back. You can reuse it as often as you like on every character you have ( given he can use the sigil ).
This could be an QoL buff for everyone, not just legendary owners. The reusable sigil could be terribly expensive, just like all the other nice things from the gemstore, like infinite gathering tools. This would not change how most play/ buy, but give those who own too much gold another QoL change.

For 800 Gems you can now buy the Sigil enhancer.
Ever wanted to reuse Sigils? Tired of slotting the 10th force Sigil into your 10th 2h slaying Weapon? This is the solution! Use this on a Sigil ( or weapon with a Sigil ) to get 1 Reusable Sigil!

It could also be a recipe for the mystic forge, using skillpoints, the sigil, wine and whatever (vision crystals?). This would limit the amount of reusable sigils you could have, be cheaper for cheap sigils, boost selling of Sigils, give an ( expensive ) solution to unsalvageable WvWvW/ Karma Weapons and draw some money from the rich.

New Mystic Forge Recipe: Combine 10 Sigils, 1 Eldrich Scroll, 20 Elonian Wine and 1 Vision Crystal to 1 (Accountbound?) Reusable Sigil.

Lastly there could be a recipe for crafting professions, this might not include all sigils, but could be controlled by recipe distribution ( 100WvW badges, 10g, 200.000 karma and your firstborn per recipe).

Other ( possibly negative ) effects reusable sigils might have:
People complaining about its cost. They just have 1 FIRSTborn.
Fewer exotic/ asc. weapons bought/ crafted.
Probably short-term higher sigils selling prices, but on the long run a bit [] cheaper ( or even still higher ).
Like everything else in the gemstore: Gold to Gems exchange rate. Fewer gems for your “hard-earned gold”.
About 50% less upgrade extractor buyings, going from 2 a month to 1… ( I’d really like to meet you, strange buyer )

They idea of a sigil library, unlocked sigils or stat bound sigils, etc, keeps coming up time and again, and once more I support this suggestion. Unfortunately we never got a response. -.-

At the moment I’m running with ascended weapons with different stats + sigils I’ve slapped the Legendary’s skin on. Don’t think ANet meant it to work this way. ^^

This is a great idea. Some people complain about legendary weapons not being that extraordinary, and the ability to swap sigils an a whim in addition to the stats would certainly change the opinion of some. For the rest of us, it would be a much better alternative to running with mismatched stats/sigils or having to buy new sigils (or upgrade removers) every time we change stats.

Yeah that would be a really really nice change, but its lower priority for changes the game needs more.

That being said I’ll probably keep the accuracy sigil in my howler when I finally make it, as its useful for both power and condition builds, but I could change it to energy sigil since the extra dodge is practically a requirement on every necro build.

Its so frustrating putting up the 1st 2nd or 3rd highest buy order for a precursor and having people put an order up 2 copper above yours, and then seeing their orders disappear when they get howl, when its literally the last thing you need to have the weapon 0_o

I’m not suggesting excessive bumping or spamming, but could we keep this topic on the 1st page awhile, maybe by inviting other proud legendary owners to support the request?

You guys are thinking way too hard about this.

I present to you the Unlimited Upgrade Extractor!
For just 1,000 gems, you can kiss ‘kissing your upgrades goodbye’ goodbye! Have 8 or more 80s? Do a lot of min/maxing different areas? Expensive gear slotted with expensive upgrades making customization a pain? Don’t know what’s gonna happen to that 100g Runeset next patch?

PS.They’ll probably never add something like this because of some implications I won’t get into. I’m just looking for common ground. I even typed it like an infomercial to drive it home. As long as nearly every sought after item, title, bit of customization, etc straddles a very fine line between ‘achievable with some effort’ and ‘a complete pain in the kitten’, then it is working as intended and Anet gets the loots. GG.
